Proprietor of Moje queens FC and Germany based business mogul, Chief Tala Awolola has congratulated the newly crowned African Women Footballer of the Year, Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala.

Oshoala was Nigeria's only shining light at the Aiteo CAF Awards held in Accra, Ghana Thursday night as she emerged the country's only winner in the entire awards night.

"Congratulations to Oshoala, who stood firm and emerged the last woman standing, when the country was unlucky to win in any of the categories it was nominated.

"This award is the beginning of bigger achievements for Asisat who was a product of the Nigeria Women Professional League where she played in the elite league for FC Robo of Lagos before moving to other top Nigerian club's enroute the European League, before her move to China."

Tala noted that it feels good to see Oshoala emerged Nigeria's hopeful at a time all seems not going right for the country. It tells a lot about the importance of women football in Nigeria and the pride of place it must occupy in the polity. The women football family should be treated specially at all times.

He however frowned at how Chelsea's wing back and Super Ealgles forward Victor Moses missed out in both CAF top three nominees of African Best players and also in the African best XI players.

"I am using this opportunity to also congratulate former Nigeria U-23 star Junior Ajayi for making the best African XI players" he concluded.
