A new Microsoft mobile device, which many people have called Surface Phone, showed up in several patents in the last few months, making diehard fans believe that the software giant is still committed to smartphones and something truly innovative is on its way.

Most of these patents pointed to a folding form factor that would rely on two different displays connected to each other with a revolutionary hinge powering a device that can be a smartphone, a laptop, and a tablet, with Windows 10 to play the role of the operating system adapting to all needs.
