The Nigerian Music Industry has experienced tremendous improvement over the years. Despite huge criticism that has continued to trail the contents of these songs released by some Artistes, the condemnation has had no impact on the financial incentives and popularity that these singles attract.

The hub of entertainment in Africa is located in Nigeria, Lagos State to be precise. Nigerian singers, actors, fashion designers and many more lead in music, movies, fashion and everything related to entertainment.

It is believed that if you gain fame in Nigeria, your popularity in Africa will be unquantifiable, which will translate into global recognition – Nigerian born Ghanaian base artist, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr. Eazi, is a living testimony of the aforementioned assertion.

Another notable name is Kenyan artiste, Victorial Kimani who became an household name in Africa after signing to a Nigerian label, Chocolate City, which afford her the opportunity to promote her songs on Nigerian airwaves.

There are many Industry names from other African countries that rose to prominence by associating themselves with Nigerian Artistes in order to penetrate the Nigerian Entertainment market, because of the culture of being a gateway to fame and fortune. Jay Z might have started in his ‘Empire State of Mind’ track that, “If you can make it here (New York), you can make it anywhere”, but he couldn’t help but to associate with Nigeria, as he joined the bandwagon of infusing ‘Afro beats’ in some of his songs.

So, it’s safe to say Nigerian artistes have done well for themselves and make the country proud by exporting our culture and sound to the World. If Nigerian produced songs laced with Nigerian voices can penetrate foreign turf, it’s a no-brainer that Nigerian artistes are king of their territory.

Gone are the days when Nigerian songs have to queue behind foreign songs from US, UK, Jamaica and other countries in local clubs and both radio and television airwaves. Now, foreign songs hardly see the light of day in Nigeria.

The Revolution in the Nigerian Music Industry didn’t start today, but years ago, even before this present generation of artistes were conceived. Now, everyday, every minute and hour, Nigerian songs rock the clubs and airwaves within the country. DJ’s now perform for hours without mixing foreign songs to their musical selection.

This profound development over the years shows in the number of songs that rocked the dance floor this year, 2017, but Bencollinspro.com has narrowed the most popular Nigerian songs to ten, a decision that was tough to conclude.

Below are Bencollinspro’s Top 10 Songs That Rocked Nigeria’s Airwaves and clubs:

Number 10: Tiwa Savage – All Over

Tiwa Savage is signed to Mavins Record, and has called the label home since she relocated to Nigeria. The has continued to rule the airwaves since the release of her E.P, ‘Sugarcane’.
