HeyCorleone:
The reason there'd continue to be atheists is because any sane mind can read that Christianity, most of it, is nothing more than men enslaving the minds of the people for their own benefits.

Freeze just started the #FreeTheSheeple thing. We're criticizing him. He's pointing out defects in the Church. We're calling him the Antichrist. He's only trying to free our minds.

And another thing is Christianity is conflicting. There is more disagreements among denominations than agreements. If it's truly one God we serve, why all these many doctrines and beliefs?

Read the Bible, you will never find Christians or Pentecostals or Presbyterians or Anglicans in the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. What we see today are man made structures and teachings trying to add to what God never instituted. All that is needed is for one to give their life to Christ. Even if a Muslim gives his life to Christ and follows the teachings of Christ, the tag 'Muslim' is useless and has no bearing on obeying the commands of God. Same applies to other religious tags in Christianity.

An2elect2:
Psalm 14:1 Nope I use to think David was referring to atheists. David was referring to hypocrites who say there is God but live as though there is none...that's why the fool says it in his heart and not in the open. In the open he acts as "righteous" as everyone but in the secret chambers of his heart, he has no fear or thought of God. He does whatever he likes, interprets everything to his interest because "God does not matter" . In other words the right interpretation of that perfectly fits the false Christians and Pastors.

Atheists were false believers who got tired of the whole charade.

This make a lot of sense.

Stupid appeal to authority---keep cherry-picking Newton's words and beliefs. Newton made hundreds of statements that you wouldn't agree with because they conflict with the Christian faith he professed, not to even mention the fact that he was an occultist who spent most of his time on ALCHEMY bullshit. I'm certain you wouldn't agree with all of that, but you'll gladly quote one of the dumbest things he ever said.

"I look at the regularity in the movement of the planets, how the stars hang in space without any support, the order and complexity in nature, and I'm astounded by the marvelousness of this, so much that I WONDER WHO COULD HAVE CREATED SUCH AN AMAZING UNIVERSE, AND THAT THE PERSON COULDN'T HAVE COME INTO EXISTENCE BY CHANCE, OR OUT OF NOTHING. Someone must have created God, and someone must have created the person that created God, and som........" ~ Tozara

Newton that said that God was the immediate cause of gravity (when he became clueless and couldn't explain how gravity was transmitted over long distances, between bodies, through a vacuum), and that space was God's body? grin

Newton that condemned the trinity, and believed himself to be one of the prophets. grin

The fact remains that the world's greatest thinkers have been pagans, Christians (usually of the HERETICAL variety), atheists and deists. Rarely any bible-thumping lunatic, or Holy Spirit-filled baboon has ever been an accomplished thinker. The sewage from the Christian gutter in the brain wouldn't have allowed such a thing.
