A non-governmental group, the League of National Patriots has come out in strong terms to condemn the rate of insecurity and spate of killings and destruction of properties across the country especially in the Northern part of Nigeria.

Lamenting the sad development the national coordinator of the group Abdulkareem Abdullahi berate the federal government for not doing enough to address the menace that is almost dividing the nation along religious line.

He cited clear example with the recent killings and destruction of properties in Numan, Adamawa state, Nassarawa, Kaduna state and the ongoing farmers and Fulani herdsmen crisis that has witnessed killings of several people in Benue state.

Wondering why the development is increasing in an alarming rate from one state to the other unabated, the group blames the law enforcement agencies particularly the Nigerian police and DSS for not being able to manage and arrests these crises and violence before they escalate.

Speaking further, Abdulkareem described this situation as sad and alarming and thus call on the Buhari led administration to find a lasting solution to this menace and total disregard for human lives and properties that may lead to complete anarchy and break down of law and order in the country. The League of National Patriots reminded the federal government of its responsibility to secure the lives and properties of the Nigerian people irrespective of their religion and geo political locations and added that this must be done in fairness and equitable manner.  In his words, “the situation is now very fragile and the federal government must handle it with the seriousness it requires. In the process, the president, the law enforcement agencies and the judicial must be able to manage possible sentiments that will rear their heads along the line. Nigerians and the whole world is watching with keen interest waiting to see what arrests of perpetrators and sponsors would be made, the process of prosecution, trials, resettlements {palliative measures),  and other necessary actions that must be taken by this administration to assure Nigerians that this administration can be trusted with the lives and properties of the citizens of this country”.

condemning the whole incidence is not the issue, but for the government to hear and act in accord to justice

you are right, but if we all standby against this in unity, they will have no choice but to take action. right now, only few people seem concerned about the entire situation or are saying anything about it
