Addicted to/devoted to
:othe two words are used in expressions that mean that something has become someone’s habit. However, there is a slight misconception in the use of the two phrases. HOW?
One is addicted to
something that brings shame
or
something illegal
or
something that is out of good manners
, e.g. someone may be addicted to drugs (or any other undesirable pleasure),

WHILE
One is devoted to
something or someone that has no intension of reproach or losing one’s good manners
, e.g. someone can be devoted to God (or every other good things like prayer or an event)
