The Eastern Palm University (EPU) is a University established by law (Imo State of Nigeria Law No. 13 of 2016). It was licensed by the NUC (National Universities Commission) in 2016. The university aims to be a world class university anchored on excellence and research needs of all relevant persons, irrespective of gender, nationality, religion or political conviction.to reduce the burden it would be on the successive governments and to maintain and promote its high standard,the GOVERNOR of Imo state Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha in his uncommon wisdom structured the university into PPP(public private partnership) MODEL of university.

Under the leadership of the vice chancellor,PROF LINUS OSUAGWU former Dean of school of business and entrepreneurship ,American university of Nigeria,the school has kicked off,with 25(NUC APPROVED) courses,3 faculties and 754 staffs already directly employed.

The university,a brain child of the GOVERNOR of IMO STATE is well structured in a way to meet up with world standards,the university staffs is simply a gathering of the best brains

The school is well secured and may force people who plans to travel out for education to have a rethink.

Okorocha has clandestinely made himself a proprietor of a university. I weep for my people! IMSU is in dearth of basic infrastructure and here the governor has expended and lavished millions of naira to build an elite university for the affluents.

What you should have asked yourself is where Okorocha got the money to build a tertiary institution of such magnitude. And why is he neglecting the state's university to rot away especially the teaching hospital at Orlu.

Do you know where the school is cited? A complete Hinterland and the school is self serviced.
Imo state is already Saturated with Tertiary Institutions, so why not set up a viable economy where the graduates can get themselves busy.
Sometimes you look beyond the post, everything is not Politics.

Imo State people (pensioners) are dying in their masses, go and ask questions !!!!

Is he not the head of the state? which bureaucracy or bottleneck in the state that is beyond his power to checkmate?
Like I said, he goofed in neglecting IMSU for this pseudo-public institution he is building.

Gov Okorocha has invested much toward the development of Imo state University as he has built the University's campuses at Okigwe and Mbaise.

But the unwritten agreement so far is that the survival of Eastern Palm University is tied to the survival of Imo State University Teaching Hospital in Orlu, whether the teaching hospital is taken over by the federal government or not.
