Meet The Ghanaian Born Teen Striker Chelsea Fans Are Calling To Replace Morata by celebsnestng: 9:10pm On Jan 19, 2018 |
https://www.celebsnest.com.ng/teenage-striker-chelsea-fans-calling-replace-suspended-morata/ Callum Hudson-Odoi’s timing could not have been better. The Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi has certainly been getting a lot of attention recently and he has shown again why he should be knocking on the door of the first team. Over the weekend and during the week, Alvaro Morata drew yet another blank in Chelsea’s goalless draw with Leicester City and drew against Norwich, and the young forward bagged a hat-trick as the Blues’ development team stuffed Sunderland 5-0. The 17-year-old, nicknamed the next Neymar, was on the bench as Antonio Conte’s side drew 0-0 with Norwich City in the FA Cup a fortnight ago. But that is the closest the teenager has got to the first team this season. For now. After the Blues were frustrated at home to the Foxes on Saturday and by Norwich mid week, fans have called for Conte to give Hudson-Odoi a chance. The Italian tactician clearly doesn’t rate back-up option Michy Batshuayi and has left Morata to toil up front on his own, scoring just four Premier League goals since the end of September. The youngster was not named in the squad for the replay, despite Ethan Ampadu starting and Dujon Sterling being on the bench. But who is Hudson-Odoi? Here's the profile the Blues’ teenage scoring sensation. Born in London but eligible to play for Ghana, the last couple of years have been a whirlwind for Hudson-Odoi who can play anywhere across the forward line. Younger brother of Eastleigh forward Bradley, who was part of the Sutton United side to face Arsenal in last season’s FA Cup, Hudson-Odoi joined Chelsea at Under-8s and has not looked back. He only made his debut for the Blues’ Under-18 side in August 2016 but Hudson-Odoi’s impact on Jody Morris’ side was impossible to ignore. Unsurprisingly his form for England had already seen him linked with Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City – who had benefited from teammate Tammy Abraham’s goal-laden spell the previous campaign – in the summer. Having signed a three-year contract to quash Juventus transfer rumours, Hudson-Odoi’s next goal is to break into Conte’s first-team squad – no mean feat given the Italian’s reluctance to use the club’s homegrown talent.
