The Two Sides Of Our Relationship With God [psalm 138:1-2] by Nobody: 5:42pm On Jan 20, 2018
Today, I want you to see the difference between the word of God and the name of the Lord or better put, the two sides of our relationship with God; they are connected together but it is very important that you know how the two are linked together. Some people specialize in the name of the Lord, but not in the word of the Lord and vice versa.

The word of God says the Lord is good, but it didn't say the Lord is safe. And it is the word of God that helps us to work safely with Him. He is actually greater than most of the names that we call him. So, it is not possible for you to flatter Him except your heart is wrong. But more than the name of God, more than the praise that we bring to Him, God wants His people to know Him, to understand Him from the revelations of His word, and come to Him on that basis. In the Bible, you find people who were trying to relate with God without knowing who He is from His word.

The passage above reveals that, God has exalted His word above His name. What it means is that, God will respect your obedience more than your praise worship. God judges your love by obedience not by emotion. But most of the time, we assume that because we had a nice time then God is pleased, no! You must know what pleases God and bring it to Him.

PRAYER: Holy Spirit, grant me a revelation of the Lord from His word so that I can build a sound and rich relationship with Him in Jesus’name, AMEN.
