A Nigerian couple have proved that less is more after their very simple wedding went viral and became a trending topic on social media.

Mr James and Mrs Blessing got married on a weekday with only 7 guests in attendance. The bride was dressed in a purple gown, not the traditional wedding dress, for her wedding. They were joined in holy matrimony in a Catholic Church and that was the end. There was no reception or any further ceremony.

The couple looked comfortable enough so it was clear they didn't have a simple wedding because of lack of funds. A witness, who was in church praying when they came in for their wedding, was impressed by this and he shared their story on social media.

Insanity is when one spends thousands of Naira for a wedding rites, when marriages these days are not guaranteed to last long, owing to too many lofty expectations from partners who ain't ready to shift grounds during misunderstandings.

Lol. I also have a family friend (also Catholic) who had such a small wedding only a crate of coca cola was enough for the guests, with takeaway rice.

It happens in the catholic church a lot. No one pressures you to outdo yourself and end up in debt drinking garri for the first 6 months.

Even if na one person, as far as God is involved, all will be well.

This is just what i love.... I tried doing something close to this during my wedding (tho mine was just about 100-120 persons)but my Mother-in -law insisted that she had close to 200 Friends who wanted to attend... We simply had an agreement that the excess will be taken care by her... and so it was..

A wedding is just one day ..... The Marriage is for ever... no need jamboreeing for just one day when u hv forever in front

I discovered that people who do simple wedding like this, tend to last longer with simple or no marriage issue, than the loud speaker wedding


I have a cousin who just did something simple like this, a medical doctor and they are happy with two lovely kids.
