In Cote d'Ivoire, at a meeting with various political parties, the Electoral Commission announced that the municipal and regional polls scheduled for 2018 would be linked. However, no precise date has yet been set.

A revision of the lists for “very soon“ and the municipal and regional elections coupled are the two announcements made by the Independent Electoral Commission that received Tuesday, January 23 at its headquarters in Abidjan representatives of political parties.

No announcement has been made regarding the date of the polls, but this will necessarily be before October 2018, since the law requires that the electoral lists be published three months before the vote. Municipal and regional elected officials will then participate in the appointment of the first senators of the new Ivorian Constitution.
