In response to the call by the Federal Govt for the establishment of cattle colonies for cattle breeders across the country, the Delta state govt has taken a stand by reiterating the wish of the good people of Delta by stating that the state has no vacant land to give out for cattle colony anywhere in the state.

Addressing journalists at Asaba, the Chief Press Secretary to the govt, Mr Charles Aniagwu made it clear that those who are in the cattle rearing business should go out and purchase lands for their business.
The CPS said "Let me make it clear now that in Delta state, we do not have any plot of land for any colony. We are not talking of hectares here, even a plot, we do not have even though, we shall continue to acknowledge the fact that there is the need to co-exist as a people. It was fate that brought us together as Nigerians, none of us made that decision and because we didn't make the decision, we have to respect that fate. However, in doing so, it has to be operated in the basis of 'Live and Let's Live'. Whichever way we are going to live together without causing any danger or damage to anybody is welcome by this govt."

While trying to buttress his points, Mr Aniagwu explained that most landlords in the state capital are from the Eastern part of the country but that they bought the lands for their businesses, therefore, he stated that whosoever wants to engage in any form of legitimate business should purchase a land for such.
The state is committed to doing anything that will promote the culture of Live and let's live but as for the issue of colony , we don't have even a plot of land to colonise. He concluded.

Cattle Colony is uncalled for and therefore wrong.
Mr. President, who really is the Prime Minister of Nigeria while State Covernors are in reality First-line Ministers of the States of Nigeria should jettison the Idea of Cattle grazing and Colonies .
They should sit to deliberate and agree on how to finance and operate modern Ranches in all States of the Federation.
