Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, has explained why he wore a branded cap campaigning for President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term to the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday.

Shittu who recently announced himself as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Muhammadu Buhari/Yemi Osinbajo Dynamic Support Group to drive the re-election campaign of the president, wore a campaign cap with Buhari’s image, but was allegedly stopped by the SGF, Boss Mustapha from distributing it.

Speaking to State House correspondents after the council meeting, Shittu explained that the materials were not meant for the FEC deliberations.

He said: “The cap is for politics, it is not for Federal Executive Council, FEC deliberations and the caps have been distributed to all members of FEC.

“So, it is sample for any other person who is interested in doing what we have done.

“I know everybody will be involved, everybody will be guided, people will take decision to support General Buhari in the 2019 elections.”

I heard this guy & Chief of staff to PMB collected bribe from MTN during the negotiation between Nigeria & South Africa to reduce MTN's tax invasion. Oyo people are waiting to collect their share of the loot if he eventually declares for the governor ship seat come 2019. Mr Shittu, the minister with many wives & concubines! Hope they are feeding well on Nigeria's money, because the masses are not!

when a man sold his precious soul to the devil its very difficult to ascertain the out come of the process, the hon. minister is a big disgrace to federal govt cabinet, I said this not because of they hatred for the current govt but for such a respected man to act this way is totally unacceptable.

No matter what the excuse is, it is an insult on Nigerian who are still not satisfied with PMB.

It's just like forcing PMB down their throat whether they like it or yes.
