FACTS ABOUT LEPROSY IN NIGERIA What is Leprosy? Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease caused by bacterium Mycobacterium leprae. Upon infection, the bacterium starts multiplying gradually and symptoms may take even up to a decade before it become visible.
