On January 16, 2018, YouTube announced a new policy for its YouTube Partner Program which has already been implemented presently. This is absolutely bad news for small YouTube creators because many are going to lose their YouTube ad monetization and some channels are going to be removed.

YouTube’s 2018 policy for channel owners says Once a channel reaches 4,000 watch hours in the previous 12 months and 1,000 subscribers it will be reviewed to join the program. Initially, the requirement to join the YouTube Partner Program was just 10,000-lifetime views and you will be reviewed to start earning.

For me, i think YouTube is just trying to fight and sweep away content copiers but on the other hand, the small and new creators have been affected by the new YouTube ad monetization policy. The upcoming YouTube creators will also be discouraged to engage in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP).
