The college seems immune from Nigerian's institutional moral decadence.

Beautiful! I am particularly impressed by the level of maintenance from years past. Kudos to everyone who put in effort through the years to effectively manage the school structure-wise.

Nice post Op.

I read about the school in Eze goes to college.

I prefer the old building with flowers and all.

Modernization has its up and down sides.
You are right philip went to DMGS while Eze and lawrence went to prince of peace, those days, but the former building made it look legendery, they could have bought enough land around it and build new buildings and use the former building as tourist attraction rather than rebuilding it.

Just to put the records straight here. DMGS IS NOT THE OLDEST SECONDARY SCHOOL IN IGBOLAND. THE OLDEST SECONDARY SCHOOL IS METHODIST COLLEGE UZUAKOLI FOUNDED IN 1923. It was known as Ibo boys institute and later Uzuakoli Institute by 1922. To secure students from rampant slave poachers of that period a castle was erected as dormitory. It was officially recorgnised with a colonial government letter written 7th Sept. 1923 after admitting 88 students Jan.8th 1923.

The first Grammar school (whatever that means) maybe, but definitely not the oldest secondary school in Igbo land. The oldest secondary school in Igbo land is Methodist College Uzuakoli, founded in 1923.

How come DMGS is said to be the oldest college in Igboland when Methodist College Uzuakoli was founded in 1923 and are celebrating their Centenary this year (2023). Someone needs to correct this.
