Daughter of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, Senator Iyabo has come hard on detractors currently recirculating a letter written in 2013 wherein she criticised her father. She advised Nigerians to be wary of any attempt to recirculate her 2013 letter and pass it off as recent and genuine.


Few days after the former president in a “special statement” outlined the undoings of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, and asked the incumbent not to seek re-election in 2019, the former senator’s letter was exhumed and redistributed over the weekend by persons suspected to be sponsored by the current administration.

Newsworth recalls that Obasanjo had on Tuesday accused the Buhari administration of incompetence, nepotism, corruption as he proposed a new coalition for Nigeria that will herald economic and social development for the country.

In a statement issued on Saturday night, the former First Daughter said the Buhari administration should rather focus on and heed the content of the letter of her father, who she described as “one of the most brilliant leaders to ever emerge in modern Africa”.
