The House of Representatives has opened a public hearing on the rift between the Minister of Finance, Mrs . Kemi Adeosun , and the suspended Director -General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Mr. Mounir Gwarzo .

The hearing is being conducted by the House Committee on Capital Market and Institutions .

It is chaired by a Peoples Democratic Party member from Kogi State, Mr. Tajudeen Yusuf .

Reps and Gwarzo are already seated , but Adeosun sends words that she will join the session later .

It's more abt the SEC Dg violating some terms of his position as head by being Chairman of some other companies as opposed to laws in the Public service rules.

Also he was paid to the tune of 104 million naira in the form severance allowances after his term as commissioner of SEC ,while subsequently appointed to a higher position as the DG.A situation Mrs Adeosun argued against.He claimed being a DG was a new appointment and he was entitled to the allowances.

He subtlely played the ethnic card by submitting that the reason for his suspension was because Mrs Adeosun differed on his proposal to probe Oando.A company owned by yorubas and in which the honorable Minister may have some interest.

The minister of Finance...... Under the act establishing SEC does not have the power to suspend a SEC DG.
