A 16-year-old Nigerian teenage girl gunned down and seriously wounded by a gun-running gang in a pizza shop in the United Kingdom has died, British police announced early Friday morning.

Agnes Sina-Inakoju, described as innocent by her family, neighbours and associates, was shot in the neck in east London on Wednesday night as two youths on bikes fired through the glass into the busy takeaway.

She was taken to a local hospital but tragically lost her fight for life Friday morning.

Witnesses said they heard shots and saw the victim slump badly injured when a gang on bicycles fired through the restaurant door at the Hoxton Chicken & Pizza store in Hoxton Street, north London, just after 7pm on Wednesday.

Detective Chief Inspector John Crossley, leading the investigation, said : "At this early stage, we believe two males approached the premises on mountain bikes.

"One fired a shot through the window, hitting the victim, who was inside the premises with friends.

"There is nothing to indicate Agnes was part of any gang at this time.

"It is highly likely she wasn't the intended target, he added.

The UK cops said no arrests have been made.

Scotland Yard in London said a man was also being treated for gunshot wounds.

The Yard's officials however said that investigations were ongoing as to whether the two incidents are connected.

The Latest Development

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was shot in the neck at a takeaway restaurant.

Agnes Sina-Inakoju, 16, was standing with a group of her friends inside the fast food outlet in east London on Wednesday evening when detectives believe a shot was fired through the window.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said two men, aged 21 and 16, were arrested on Saturday night in connection with her murder.

Officers said they did not believe the teenager had been the intended target of the shooting.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said officers were keeping an open mind about the reason for the shot being fired and it was too early in the investigation to say if the incident was gang-related.
