D’Tigress Coach Vincent To Open FIBA World Cup Camp In July

Completesportsnigeria.com can exclusively report that the coach of Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team D’Tigress, Sam Vincent, is planning to begin preparation in July for the 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Spain.

The tournament will take place at the Teatro Leal, San Cristóbal de la Laguna on the island of Tenerife in Spain from September 22 to September 30.

According to the American coach who led the Nigerian men’s team D’Tigers to the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan, D’Tigress will begin camping in the United States of America.

“We are starting preparation in July but I have been monitoring players and talking to some,” Vincent told CSN.

“Many of them are here (in the US) and there is a need to know how they are doing in their various clubs.”

Nigeria won the 2017 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket in Mali to qualify for the World Cup billed to feature 16 countries.

D’Tigress will face Argentina, Australia and Turkey during the first round of the tournament in Spain.
