THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State has passed a vote of confidence on of His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the leadership of the party as they expressed optimism in the 2019 general elections.
In a communiqué signed by 20 members of executive, after an enlarged meeting with members of the party, the biggest political party in Africa displayed confidence in the leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa within the party structure and in the governance of the state.
They also commended the state Chairman of the party, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, for his sterling qualities in piloting the affairs of the party at the state level, even as they also applauded the Delta North Chairman of the party, Chief Moses Iduh and the Local Government Chairman of the party (Aniocha North), Prince Victor Egbune.
The party stalwarts hailed the leadership of the party for the manner it conducted the local government elections in the state, which saw the fulfillment of the desires of the people, adding that it is a good omen for the 2019 general elections, as they are committed to deliver the state and the centre.
While allaying the fears of the public concerning crisis in the PDP, the party chieftains described it as mere rumours and an attempt to scuttle the prevailing peace and cordial relationship enjoyed by its members, even as they assured of a bigger and stronger PDP.
It would be recalled that in the just concluded local government elections in the state, the PDP swept the 25 local governments councils in what has been described by observers as peaceful and credible polls, devoid of violence and mayhem.
