Do You Think It's Right ? Women Wearing Isiagu In Igbo Land by akelicious(m): 4:23am On Feb 17, 2018 |
Last year December, a lot of ladies that wedded traditional wore ISIAGU during their IGBA NKWU. Elders didn't complain TRADITIONAL rulers didn't complain Titles chiefs didn't complain etc But I know that when I was growing up, ISIAGU is meant for titled chief. The clothes isn't meant for anyone not to talk of women putting it on. This days, both young guys, children, ladies etc wear ISIAGU on a daily basis Do you think it's right? Do you think NDI IGBO want to abolish the belief that isi Agu is only meant for tilted cheifs or do you think it's civilization? you can also drop your comments by clicking the link http://www.akelicious.com/2018/02/do-you-think-its-right-women-wearing.html

They bought it. Because it can easily be bought in the market. It is common knowledge that the average Easterner values money more than anything else, even a chieftaincy title can be given to a ten year old if he has enough money to "wet the beaks" of the elders so why should they complain? |

akelicious: Its the sign of changing times. 15 years ago, no woman in Igbo land would have dared to wear the Isiagu. Now you can see it here and there. Im not too bothered about it. 2 Likes |

My mum wore Ishiagu to dedicate my bro born in 1986. So this is just a repeat of fashion. Then they used it for wrapper and blouse. Now they use it as gown 1 Like |

Deep cultural traditions of the past seems to fizzle off as people are choosing to change with the new trend thereby taking away all limitations and trying something new No one seems to be complaining or raising soo much dust...so maybe they don’t mind, cz there can’t be an excuse that they haven’t noticed 1 Like |
