The town of Rumuomasi in Obio/Akpor LGA of Rivers state went aflame on sunday when one of its sons Barrister Nyebuchi Phillips was caught deflowering a 9 year old girl living within the neighbourhood. The accused lawyer is said to have been mastered in the art of having sexual relationship with minors. Barrister Phillips, a one time vice Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA created a scene when caught. Neighbourhood watch observed as youths raged over his unruly behaviours towards minors.
Female Lawyers and other child right lawyers have moved the matter to police to press charges against the Barrister Phillips. Some sections of the community members are currently in plea bargain in order to save the dishonourable member of the town.
Officers of the Elekahia Police command transfered the matter to the state CID for further investigation and prosecution.
