NTA is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary and as part of the celebration, they are showing some of their classic shows and uploading them to YouTube immediately after. The two shows that I'm eagerly waiting for are Third Eye and Second Chance. I've been checking YouTube for those two shows every hour since yesterday.

Another show that I would like to see is Magana Jarice and they are going to show it on Sunday, so I expect that it should be on YouTube by Monday.

There was this show by Zack Amata in the early 90s. "Behind the clouds", i believe it was called

PS, I Love You was first shown on CBS in the US in 1991 and it was firsy shown on Nigerian TV late in 1992, therefore it cannot be on this list.

So many people are posting 1990s shows.

op you have finished all of us who were little kids in 70"s. Damn I loved my childhood, oh nigeria what happened? sometimes it feels strange that nigeria was actually liveable in the 70's/ 80's.

Inspector Bediako was first shown in Ghana in 1994 and ran until 1997. It was first shown in Nigeria c1997. It therefore cannot be in this list.

The moment I saw this thread on FP, I knew Naptu2 was about to take me on a nostalgic ride. So most of these series. My late Dad tuned me onto the older ones in the 80's. He used to record episodes on Betamax tapes so we could binge watch later. E don tey wey we try binge watch series. Long before hard drives. grin

1) Behind The Clouds. This was undoubtedly the most popular programme on Nigerian television in 1989. Unfortunately only one of the star actors was shown in this clip. Matt Dadzie is under arrest. Matt Dadzie is one half of the famous Nigerian television power couple, Matt and Gladys Dadzie. They were part of the famous Jos television movement and the acted in, produced and directed many of the famous shows that were made in Jos. Gladys Dadzie also acted in Behind The Clouds. She acted as Fortune's mother.

2) I'm not sure if Ishilove will know this show. Winds Against My Soul was originally shown on Nigerian television in 1979 (it spooked me then) and rerun in 1987. I could never get over Taiwo Ajayi-Lycett's hair!

Do you remember a show called SPACS(Special Protection Anti-Crime Squad) ? I believe it was a Nigerian version of SWAT/The Sweeney/CI5 and
a fictional version of the Panti Stree CID/Force CID of the Nigeria Police Force back then.

The opening sequence featured someone being chased on foot, then two ninja-like figures dressed in white, having a fierce taekwando battle.

I loved it!
