Listen folks, I do not like commenting anymore but it is better you are informed so you can make your decisions, religious or tribal, it is your port of call.

The man we have as President, does not understand a thing about these technical terms, and I am sure most of you too do not understand.

What they mean is that Buhari prefers to pay just two companies, Azura and Accugas, I do not know the people who own those two companies, but not only that, those two companies are indemnified and can not loose money if business goes south in the power sector. That is favoritism, that is bad.

Then he pays them regularly from the loan meant for the whole Gencos and pays the remaining 13 when ever he likes without following the agreed timetable. Meanwhile our national grid is about to collapse.

If you love yourselves, prepare for the dark days if Buhari returns in 2019. He is not a bad man, but he is 100% ignorant and now these guys are charging the country extra 200 billion interest, in excess of about 700 billion, now that is wisdom of an ancient man.

Some people have good supply of electricity and pay their bills, the Gencos and the Discos should be merged so that the end user pays bills directly and stop government intervention.

Read and comprehend. Observe companies involved. Study their grievances.

On their grievances and prayers to court, they may have a strong case.

They should hand over the assets back to the govt if they can give us sufficient power supply.

The privatization of power generation and distribution in the past dispensation was one of the biggest scams in the history of Nigeria ,probably second only to that of the oil industry.
Power generation and distribution were handed over to political and government affiliated persons with neither the financial wherewithal, the knowledge, capacity nor experience to run even a 1kw capacity generator.
This government, itself lacking capacity, full of incompetent and nepotic individuals, built and sustained on the same foundation of crass corruption has just taken it to the next stage by narrowing down the corrupt, incompetent breed to just the most connected and probably most corrupt of the individuals running the Gencos.

In 2015 under Jonathan I was used to enjoying 12 hours of power supply everyday, but today under Buhari I don't see up to one hour of uninterrupted power supply. whenever they supply power, it is either half or quarter current and it shows up once or twice a week, I guess that is the meaning of CHANGE

PROPAGANDA!
Jonathan did the privatisation
Sold the companies to his friends who did not have the financial resources to own those companies
Even Tony Elumelu admitted that a lot of the companies did not have the money for investment in the sector
Go and watch the session between Elumelu and Osinbajo during the last National Economic Summit Group

Buhari was under pressure to reverse the privatisation but he declined because the propagandists would accuse him of bad faith

This was before the 2015 election

IN spite of privatization of the power sector, the country has not been able to achieve regular power supply. What do you think is the problem? I think the problem is that ipso facto, the privatization of the power sector was not designed by those who packaged it to be a means towards ending the problem of irregular power supply in the country.

In other words, the privatization was not a people’s oriented idea
and to that extent, the incoming government riding on its manifesto that emphasizes benefits for the people, needs to tinker with it especially by ensuring removal of political influences in line with the global practice which allows carrier professionals with core competence and practical experience in managing such a critical sector to play the lead role in designing an acceptable process.
