They did mine the next day, and it was passed the third day. If it hasn't changed, you can go on Monday and see if there's space, they usually replace people that don't show up or come late. That was how i did mine. It means, "get there early". I think they start at 9am, you want to get there 8ish so you can start smiling at everyone especially the receptionist/attendant or what is she called. Except that has changed, mine was just last month and i know a couple of other people that did the same thing. But if it's not urgent, you can as well wait for your date. Cheers Kvdag: |

Hello house, Please I'm going to Canada next month from Lagos and I intend booking my flight with Delta Air, can I transit through the USA without US visa ? |

harde116: Hello sir, I think you need to slow down the way you attack these guys. I am not saying you don't have a point but coming out on full attack mode is not the way to go about it. These guys have contributed consistently for months on this forum without being paid, let us appreciate their efforts. Attacking them will send them away and I don't think you can contribute regularly the way they do. I am even very sure your TRV which you got of recent, these guys contributed to the success one way or the other. They may not always be correct and that is understandable because they are humans. Most people on here are PG students. For you to think of doing PG in any of the western countries, you must be able to carry out research independently and double check every information you receive before using it. Information on here is not absolute, the job of everyone on here is to confirm that it is true. On the study gap issue, it is common sense to suggest that most visa officers all over the world will want to know what you have been doing for long after your UG (if you have 2,3 years gap and above) and why you are just going for PG now. If you have been away from school for a long while, you MUST convince them that you still have the passion for education and you are not just using this as an escape route. I have attended UK student visa interviews and have many other friends who have passed through it (we all had study gaps) and the first question the VO asked was what were you doing all this while? Same for USA student visas. Explain clearly in your letter what you have been doing, the reason you are going now for PG and convince them why that reason makes sense. The argument on what is a study gap, I think is totally unnecessary. Finally, lets learn to give our opinions without "attacking" each other. 4 Likes |

I doubt it. Delta has even stopped operations from Lagos except they just resumed. NeyofeedNigEnt: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Jayjaycee18: 1:06am On Aug 12, 2018 |
NeyofeedNigEnt: I have seen several instances in recent times where travellers had to obtain a US visa, before they could transit through the US to Canada. You would have to confirm from the particular Airline (Delta in this case) or an airfare booking agent. You can check the Airline's website and either call or email them to confirm. Cheers |

Two questions for you: 1. Where exactly did i attack in this post? 2. What have you said that is different from what i said? I'm sorry i tried to share my opinion against "the people that have consistently contributed on the forum". I'd rather just keep mute. For your info, i submitted my application even when i didn't know anyone on this forum. As much as they are all knowledgable people, you should learn to know nobody knows it all, and this is a fact, nobody here is a VO!!! Know this: at this point, even though i have knowledge to gain from whatever anyone says on this platform if i so choose, i have ABSOLUTELY nothing to lose!!! I wish you all the best. jnyuwa02: THE LORD is your strength, you shall get your TRV. Also case is not as bad as you make it sound. I guess if possible you don't wanna touch down here in Naija atall. The U.K. ready to take your tuition anytime you re ready. Flight ticket back home could be the only thing at stake at due date. Can you imagine one being scared of spending 24hrs more in the U.K. after a program you paid hard earned money for? Worst case scenario think Ireland . Their laws more lenient instead of ever going back |

Rule 1. You can't transit USA without a transit visa or any other valid US visa. Rule 2. You can't transit 2 European countries without a Schengen visa That's why flights through these routes are cheap. NeyofeedNigEnt: |

harde116: The bitter truth is that they are not the same. Someone who graduated this year and going straight for a masters degree is not similarly situated with someone who graduated ten years ago. The one who graduated ten years ago and has been working and has ten year study gap (time away from studying) faces stiffer odds in getting approved and has to do significantly more than the one who graduated last year to convince the VO. Someone on this forum last month called it a pervasive age discrimination and he has a point. Someone who graduated ten years ago would be in their mid 30+. Having been away from school that long, you face a stiffer odd in convincing a VO that your can study than the person who just graduated and his mind is still fresh in academia. We have seen so much approvals within people with study gaps of 5 years and below. And the approvals among people with 10 years and above study gap, has been sparingly. It’s the bitter truth on how Canadians VO operate. I am not trying to scare anyone. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Olayemudia: 5:04am On Aug 12, 2018 |
I broke almost all the laws and norms propagated here and got my visa. Nine (9) days before I printed my Statement of account, I had a closing balance of N2506.65. Well I applied with...(a large sum though)... Which I never explained because it was in the Letter of Explanation that I did not upload. Remember apart from proof of financial support documents, I did not upload any other document. Heads are different, what can kill Mr. A. might not affect Mr. B. Prepare a good application but never judge your application with the standard of any person who is not GOD. God controls everything, even the VO. 7 Likes |

Congratulation! am happy for you. You did tell us your full profile and what you share here is total inconclusive. 1) do have scholarship 2) did you use a sponsor like we have all realize, there are standard situation that you don't need to explain anything and the applicant will definitely get a TRV. We need to be scientific here and been superstitious is making it difficult for others to learn. also, 1) did you have a first class? 2) do you have less than 2 years "study gap" 3) is your planned program matching with the previous one? 4) is your program showing progression? 5) do you have travel history? All these things are the cumulative factors that the VO use to take their decision. As all the guru keep reminding us, you need SOP when there is something you need to explain in you application. If you have been here long enough, you will answer the first two questions. My friend with a scholarship was refused!. Like I stated before I had a first class and a distinction but did not upload supporting documents neither did I state it. My study gaps are 2 years and a virgin passport. Young man, there is God and someone here needs to have faith in his God for his/her application kpizzle: 4 Likes |

NeyofeedNigEnt: I believe you can as long as you are not strong out of the airport into the country after passport control. KLM, Lufthansa, Turkey, Air France, etc. You may simply call wakanow or the airlines directly to find out. I think the most important thing is having a visa which allows you entry into your country of final destination. Call or make a dummy booking and check the ticket rules. On closer examination, it seems you are talking about transiting 2 (two) EU Countries and not just through a single EU Country. Don't think it's possible without Schengen visa but still check. Na sightseeing trip? |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by kpizzle: 10:31am On Aug 12, 2018 |
1) you have scholarship 2) you are going for PHD and as we have all discussed and agreed on this forum, PHD students has a higher chance of getting TRV than other categories of education. 3) VO make their decisions based on one or more factors. Having scholarship is not the reason an applicant will automatically get a TRV. 4) we don't know the full profile of your friend. 5) I also have faith. But we need to be scientific here. Everything we share should be logical and based on emperical evident. Olayemudia: 1 Like |
