^^^ I agree with you but still, , One other misused Biblical quote is "My people die for lack of knowledge". MOGs as they are called use this to brow-beat people into tithes and "sowing" saying the absence and/or insufficiency of such is the reason for their financial woes. Thats why people like Lawrence Agaba decided to up the ante by taking money that wasn't his to Christ Embassy. Such abound particularly in All we need do is follow the Biblical injunction and "Look in the scroll of the Lord and read; none of these shall be missing, not one will lack her mate. For it is His mouth that has given the order, and His Spirit will gather them together. HE ALLOTS THEIR PORTIONS, his hand distributes them by measure, they will possess it forever and dwell there from generation to generation" Is 34: 16 & 17. There is a portion for us (not whatever we decide to claim) and God has given the order (not any pastor). But we shall find our portion when we open God's Word and "see" what He has "alloted" to us. The faith of our fathers (Abraham etc) and the Apostles was simple: THEY BELIEVED GOD through thick and thin, wet and shine and got fulfillment in God the GOD way! And as far as the Bible is concerned, Christianity's reward is not here on earth but in Heaven which would be seen to follow from the context of the quote from Isaiah above. Paul despaired at the thought that he was wrong! Were he enjoying the dominion of this world, would he have done so? The reader would be well advised to consider that! No one says Christians ought be poor or beggarly but there is a process to wealth and health which is equally available to both believer and unbeliever and is disparate from "faith". Luck (the Bible calls it time and chance), hardwork, patience and perseverance usually lead to wealth for all men regardless of religious affiliation. But these |

nuclearboy: Ah! I just remembered! A friend of mine just gisted me about his shock a couple of years ago at their local branch of Tunde Joda's church where their local pastor who used to be known for his preaching on holiness, righteousness and focus on "making heaven" one day came on the pulpit and excitedly announced that he was no longer waiting to get to heaven before getting his reward - in his words; "I want to receive my reward here, now!!!" Hallelujah!!! And from that day its been one offering/special offering or the other! |

The funny thing is that I got bathed and drenched in all these WoF nonsense, I was even a partner of Kenneth Copeland Ministries. . . by the time I joined Nairaland (as m~box) I still had SOME of those beliefs but I had dropped many of them due to my personal study of the scriptures (Thank God for NYSC days where I was far away from the nearest WoF place and I just didn't like Winners Chapel - the only one available - so I stopped swallowing their ordure and I started seeing the Bible through its own lens). But within like 6 weeks on Nairaland, I saw many things that made me go back to the Scriptures and start searching with the same vigour with which I believed all kinds of nonsense previously. So, trust me, I understand what the WoF guys are going through. When one is thoroughly brainwashed, it's VERY hard to see the truth, and many times it's more convenient to keep seeing the lies because it's like voodoo, it gives you a drunken sense of power. Spoken by an ex-WoFer |

InesQor: Hmmm. . . Sounds familiar However, there's a difference sha o. . . most WoFers do not even know that scripture is the first & highest authority we have and that their MoGs should actually minister within the boundaries/provisions of scriptures. When presented with scriptural truth which contradicts their MoG's teachings, they just shrug and don;t even make an effort to look at/study the scriptures for themselves - they prefer to stick with their delusions. |

most times this "touch not my anointed" mantra only seems to be applied to people's favorite "superstars", so to speak. I rarely hear the same when it comes to run of the mill, lesser known ministers. |

^^^ I hope you're joking! You never heard of the Guyana Tragedy? Please google it and see what level of delusion some people get to. You could also do a search on David Koresh who apparently ended up thinking he was the promised "Holy Spirit" and that the machineguns he stockpiled were the "Word of God" My own is just that whist the MOGs out there may say they have no "mirrors", our NL "mogs" should repent since they have DEFINITELY interacted with people who know the truth and their consciences are pricking them. |
Re: Touch Not My Anointed? Really? by petres007(m): 3:11pm On May 02, 2010 |
nuclearboy: Somebody claimed to be the promised Holy Spirit?? I thought muslims already claimed that for Muhammed. Anyway sha, I'm going to google it up right away. Thanx. nuclearboy: I think the Word of God is the only mirror they need and they have no excuse. nuclearboy: I don;t think they'll choose to repent even if Peter, James, John & Paul were to come back from the dead and try to reason with them. and that's because the earthly/temporal benefits they're getting is more precious to them than any future glory promised in Christ.
