In a book where there is no law, there is no sin. Christianity does not have a set of rules guiding the lifes of his adherents. If it does then, i would be surprised as hardly is it practised.

They should first become born again and wear good and godly character...

The reason I ask is because, what's "modest" varies from place to place and from time to time. the average Nigerian youths female dressing today would be regarded as a prostitute's dressing decades ago and what's regarded by majority to be "modest" in America today might be seen as immodest in Nigeria.

To give you an example which most Nairalanders can relate to. in the mid nineties when trouser wearing was just getting into Nigeria, a lot of religious people not only called it immodest but many infact called trouser wearing "Demonic". Today, reverse is the case as several churches allow females to wear trousers even when coming to church

Liberty from the law doesn't mean freedom from obeying God's moral principles, but freedom from the bondage of the law as we now have the Spirit in us to help us obey those laws...

It's not a sin to wear make up or trouser but the manner which u do it might attract sin.
I like ladies that wear good jewelry and girls that also wear trouser but won't tolerate if the trouser gets too tight rather, modest.

Some wear outlandish makeups like the eyelashes they fix and look like owl ... Some show their breasts everywhere like Pof Pof for sale...

which is exactly my point! if the society influences what people regard as "modest" then we have a problem cuz society simply dictates what's "Normal" not modest.

Google search of the word "Modest" states "(of a woman) dressing or behaving so as to avoid impropriety or indecency, especially to avoid attracting sexual attention."

if you really go by this definition then the only church with "Modesty" is deeper life and (almost) every other popular churches are actually allowing (read:encouraging) immodest dressing

For me,I believe everything should be based on conviction.
Your conviction would determine how you dress,act and all.
And as Christians your conviction would tell you when your dressing crosses modest lines.

I still wonder why does churches that don't allow jewelries use wrist watches. it is a form of jewelry. On the make up issue, it is cosmetics. They use scented soaps and body creams which are also cosmetics. They also do these to look good. If they want to follow their doctrine, they shdnt use wrist watches or even cosmetics. just baff with water and go.

That u are a Christian doesn't mean u should appear shabby and tattered.. U can apply make u, use jewelry and still be a Christian.... remember it is ur deeds that will portray ur being a Christian or a hypocrite.

speaking of hypocrites, I have an aunt that banned me and my siblings from entering her compound because we put on earrings and necklaces. according to her, d earrings and necklaces are what the Israelites used in moulding a golden calf ad god, so Christians are not meant to put Dem on. but taking a look at her from head to toe, she put on golden wrist watches and bangles that are even costlier than our 100naira earrings..... hahahaha! funny.but the question is, who is fooling who?

in essence, what u put on does not make u a Christian or a sinner, it is ur personal relationship with God and ur deeds towards ur fellow humans dat determines that.

It was not implying that you should not adorne yourself but more emphasis should be placed on Good deeds and character.
