Sahara Reporters owner Omoyele Sowore has commenced his 2019  presidential bid by hosting Nigerians to a  presidential town hall meeting in Bowie, Maryland.

Omoyele Sowore’s presidential train is moving very fast. It started in Lagos about two weeks ago and it is now crisscrossing the America’s major cities. Omoyele Sowore will be in Philadelphia on March 18th and on March 24th in Detroit, Michigan.

why? What changes do you think anybody can make through senate or hot? Only 1% there are working with their head intact, the rest are either representing the president or their political party...better to be a councilor than a senator sef...atlesst you can influence your local chair

Encouraging Durotoye, Sowore and co. to continue dancing and you are watching their back is not what true friend or admirer does; it's deceitful. Deep in your heart, you know these people have zero chance. The right thing to do is tell them the truth, it is not about discouraging anyone but simply saying it as it is. Their energy and resources can be best utilised if directed to a more realistic goal, and you know it. Stop deceiving these people. This is national politics not some kind of organisations.

You answered the question yourself. If only 1% in the Senate have their heads intact, don't you think more people with their "heads intact" needs to be added to the Senate to increase it from 1% to a reasonable number?

What u People failed to understand is that contesting elections is not always about winning, sometimes its about gaining popularity and adding some relevance to your status. For instance, if he contest against Buhari, he would have his name registered in INEC presidential aspirants book as one of Nigeria presidential contestant. He would be more relevant home and abroad and he would forever be referred to as former Nigeria presidential candidate even though he didn't get up to 1% of the votes. Lastly, he would gain more public trust as people and organisations would like to reckon with person of such calibre, so the advantages of contesting elections is more than winning the election itself.
