Nasir El-Rufai, the former Federal Capital Territory(FCT) minister has returned from exile after 23 months. Mr. El-Rufai arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja,at 4.29 am this morning, emerging a mere 18 minutes later after being given what he called ‘a VIP treatment' by the airport officials upon his arrival. Up to 100 family members and well-wishers were on hand at the airport to welcome him.

Although there was a significantly large police presence at the airport prior to his arrival, Mr El-Rufai was not accosted at any point upon his return. A black Range Rover was waiting to take him home and the vehicle was followed by seven cars but no discernible armed escort.

Mr. El-Rufai, who left the country in protest of alleged persecution by the Yar'Adua government, was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) after slamming an eight count charge, including abuse of office, on him in 2009.

The former minister has consistently challenged the EFCC for malicious investigation and prosecution and says he is ready to defend himself in the courts. Mr. El-Rufai says he will be visiting the EFCC offices next week

Yes, Ribadu will follow suit as the court pleases because they don't have genuine allegation against him. Trust me, if they have strong evidence that this man is corrupt people like Ibori, Kalu, Tinubu, Atiku, Babangida and all their friends will not wait a minute to reduce this man to nothing. If all what they can tell us with their money and influence is that this man fails to declare his asset then the truth must either the man is smarter than them or they can't find anything incriminating about this man.

Do you have any proof of IBB's corrupt practice? All the state Govs past and present, we all call them corrupt men, can we show any proof that they were/are corrupt. We can easily say they awarded contract to friend at inflated rate yet the contract was not executed, same goes to El-rufai buying/allocating properties to his cronies and children.

We are where we are today cuz we celebrate these thieves.

He is welcome home I love his courage of returning back home despite of all speculations and I still look forward to see Ribadu return as well so that those who feel threat by his presence will have no option than to leave Nigeria or hide away.
