ETHICS AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Abstract
Environmental protection is the practice of putting in check the activities of man in order to preserve and maintain natural resources. These resources are well placed in man’s environment to serve as food, meat, shelter, source of livelihood as the case may be. It is therefore imminent considering the importance of man’s environment to put measures that control man’s interaction with his environment in place. Ethics then comes into the picture as it offers social rules, principles, norms that guide the conduct of people in the society.
This work has raised various ethical questions that addressed environmental protection. It has equally reviewed environmental ethics and the three theories of environmental ethics with the aim of proffering suitable answers to the ethical questions raised.
