Yet another group affiliated with the Leading opposition Peoples Democratic Party has reacted to the call for Deregistration of the Party by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Describing the move as a plot to silence opposition in a democracy. The PDP National Youth League through its National Publicity Secretary made its stands know through a Press Statement which reads;

Our attention has been drawn to a call by the federal government through the minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, for the deregistration of our great party, Peoples Democratic Party

2. Though we are not surprised by the latest position taken by the unpopular All Progressive Congress led federal government as it as another tactic by the government to gag opposition so as to entrench a one party state, we consider the position as irresponsible and a joke taken too far.

3. We wish to admonish the APC that were it not for that the PDP ensured that democracy thrived and opposition parties operate freely without any form of humiliation and oppression, they wouldn't have had the chance to assume power in 2015.

4. The PDP, our great party will not be cowed to the submission of the oppressive APC regime neither shall we sit and watch them run Nigeria aground, neither shall we abandon our responsibility as the major and leading opposition.

5. We call on the international community to intervene in this latest attempt by the federal government to usurp our democracy just to further their evil ways and continue to mete punishment on Nigeria Citizens.
