deomelo:Even before the recession, most Nigerians have been suffering. The recession was supposed to provide a political opportunity to correct the many ills of the country. APC has practically wasted that opportunity. |

deomelo: I think increased income can neutralize the effects of such wastages. Think Russia. Their leaders are more corrupt than Naija leaders. It's not even close. Putin is said by some to be the richest man on earth by a mile. He is reputed to be worth an amazing $200 billion. http://cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com/2015/02/15/putins-net-worth-is-200-billion-says-russias-once-largest-foreigner-investor/ But because of the sheer amount of income Russia makes per annum (their annual GDP is $1.3 trillion), they can afford to have these oligarchs who openly flaunt their looted billions, buying choice properties in major cities across the world, and a leader whose very name means Money. It doesn't draw the kind of outrage Nigerian corruption does, because Russia has made enough money to cater to the basic needs of the Russian people. Russia has good infrastructure, and a reasonably good health care and education system etc. I see us heading that way - not quite getting rid of corruption, but improving living standards across the board, substantially, over the coming years, due to more diversified income sources, like natural gas exports etc. Hopefully we can avoid a Putin in office. |

tolufase: Do you think the Nigeria of 1960 and the Nigeria of 2018 are the same in terms of infrastructure and development? You have no idea how far we have come. Today you can drive to your village on an actual road. In 1960, it was most likely a bush path you would use to get there. By bicycle, since cars were only for the super rich. |

Hmmmmm I wonder who would enjoy infrastructure in the Northeast, if we had focused on human development, we won't have had Buhari/Atiku as presidential candidates. 80% of citizens are brain dead |
