I think you should be paying the 2k since you are using the supply. 2k is not much and i think it's moderate bcus some area are paying 8k-12k monthly on estimated bill and you are complaining of 2k. If you don't need their supply and you think using generator is more cheaper for you pending when your meter arrives, then write and be disconnected. |

sotall: This post is not about the #2000 bill. I stated clearly that we didn't have light for over six months because of a faulty transformer. And the landlady paid for the prepaid meters before this. What is delaying the prepaid meters after a year? Why can't they install the prepaid meters when the transformer was bad? Why did they wait until nine months before coming up with their plan to be collecting service charge? What is the assurance that we'll get the prepaid meters soon. Power supply in my area is poor. Very poor. What is their justification for the #2000 monthly service charge ? These are my concerns. 1 Like |

hannysur8: What is even their functions? They didn't fix the transformer when it was faulty for 7 months. They didn't process the prepaid meters that was paid for and now they want to collect service charge. For what exactly? |

Nigeria is a funny country and Nigerians are even funnier. How do you pay N2,000 ($5.63) per month for electricity and expect a functioning electric system?? My last month’s electricity bill was $185.00, January was $176 etc. my water bill for last month was $82, in January it was $77. At this rates, I expect a fully functioning services and that’s what I get. Paying $5/month for these expensive services is not realistic, you are more or less subsidizing NEPA officials pepper soup’s payment. 1 Like |

gurunlocker: Thank you for your response. They are unnecessarily delaying the prepaid meter just to collect loss of revenue. We had no light for 7 months. Why didn't they fix the prepaid meter during that time. This is one of the reasons this country is crawling. |

chukzyfcbb: Mr Lagosian, I'd gladly pay any bill they bring if it is justified. Those shops in Lagos are happy to pay because it's justifiable. I ran generator everyday for six months. What stopped them from fixing the prepaid meters then? Why now? 1 Like |

amani63:Who cares about how much you pay monthly? Did you read the part where I said that use solar and inverter in my flat? And what do you mean by "behaving childish" and poverty mindset? I ran my gen every day for six months without Nepa. Please read the post again. I might not be Dangote but am comfortable. I am sure Dangote wouldn't pay for what he's not getting value for. 1 Like |

sweetTai: Now imagine getting these bills when you're providing your own electricity. That's what I am going through. And this is what most Nigerians are going through. Even as I type this, the last time we had power supply is over two days. I use solar and inverter. My neighbours run generator 247. The system is not function for those paying the system. |

sweetTai: You just showed you are very unintelligent and have little or no smattering of economics. How could you compare what you pay by converting it in naira? It's akin to saying you earn 1k dollars ie 360k in New york and therefore better than someone in VI earning 300k Do you spend or make money in naira? This is gross... |

Jawshua: OK my bad, Im sorry for the tone of the response bros. Now here a couple of things that can help you based on experience... 1. Did your Landlady pay for the meters through the genuine process, does she have documents (Bank teller) showing amount and nos of meters payed for? If so head to the nearest Office with copies of documents and request to see New service officer and tender your documents....8/10 chances are the meters are ready and probably phone nos supplied as at time of application is not reachable. 2. Now also confirm if it's not that she gave one "NEPAMAN" Soso and soso amount of money because he is a Nepaman! So if this is the case contact "NEPAMAN" and ask what is happening since u have not seen meter Also as for the 7 months outage...Sorry bros e dey pain Wella! 3. But for the payment it's not extortion, it's actually the standard since the service unit stamp will be on it with the Cashier's signature. It's admissible anywhere. So bro try and confirm situation of things first from the office, so you know what next to do. 80 if not 100% of meters payed for over a year ago have been delivered and installed. There's a NERC regulation on metering that ensures DISCOs meter within 45 days customer makes payment. So hope I have been helpful abit.....My bad about earlier bro, hope this solves your issue |
