Mr Akinwunmi Adesina is the former minister of Agriculture and current 8th President of the African Development Bank. He was the minister of Agriculture and Rural Development for four years between 2010 to 2015. Until his appointment as Minister in 2010, he was Vice President of Policy and Partnerships for the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). In 2015, he was elected as the President of the African Development Bank. He is the first Nigerian to hold the post.
Mr Adesina who was born in Ibadan, Oyo state Nigeria is known for his outstanding success in the agricultural and rural development sector has announced on his Twitter page of the loss of his dear father. He wrote an emotional post on Twitter where he gushed about his father. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
