Youth group under the aegis, Bauchi Youth For Good Governance says its attention has been drawn to an advertorial in pages of some national dailies issue of April 5th, 2018 where a faceless group referred to as the Coalition of Bauchi Political Stakeholders attacking the person of the distinguished Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed for including as he should, the name of  former Minister of FCT, Senator Bala Mohammed, in the list of politicians facing corruption charges in the country.

In a press release signed by the Chairman of the group, Comrade Samaila Sani, he said whoever the members of the group are, their submission does not in any way reflect the opinion of the people of Bauchi.

"We in Bauchi pride ourselves on our respect for the rule of law therefore, we urge the group to advise the former FCT Minister to first go and clear his name instead of making preposterous claims about his supposed candidature for the upcoming elections.

"This is because, the people of Bauchi are no longer in the habit of entrusting their future into the hands of people with corrupt cases hanging over their heads and no amount of polished or sponsored press statements will make the people lose sight of that," he said.

Sani also in his statement, stated clearly that that the sweeping conclusion by the group that the people of Bauchi are only waiting to swear in the embattled former senator come May, 2019, adding that it may only have emanated out of the fertile breeding grounds of their imaginations as the people of Bauchi are very satisfied with the performance of the incumbent governor, Barrister M.A Abubakar who has worked tirelessly to save Bauchi from the sorry state he met it.

"We urge this group not to drag Bauchi into whatever game of relevance they are playing because the Youth have positioned themselves to resist the antics of unscrupulous elements in the coming election, especially those accused of siphoning public funds.

"It will be recalled that, the former minister of the FCT alongside his son, Shamsuddeen are both standing trial bothering on money laundering, false assets declaration among others," the statement said.
