NEW YORK CITY — In handcuffs, UFC superstar Conor McGregor stepped in front of a judge on Friday afternoon in Brooklyn.

The Irishman had a hearing on Friday afternoon at the Kings County Criminal Court. Heading into the hearing, the 29-year-old McGregor faced three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief due to his UFC 223 bus attack on Thursday.

The judge issued an order of protection in favor of Michael Chiesa, Ozzy Arias, Ray Borg, Ricardo Chico on both Conor McGregor and his SBG teammate Cian Cowley, who was also involved in the attack.

The judge also set a $50,000 bail on Conor McGregor and a $25,000 bail on Cowley. Both fighters will be allowed to travel. McGregor’s next hearing is set for June 14.

The news comes after McGregor and his entourage, composed of 15 to 20 people according to several reports, attacked a bus at the garage of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn with metal barriers, chairs, trash cans and other objects on Thursday afternoon.

The bus was transporting several athletes from the UFC 223 media day back to the fighters’ hotel. Although the attack targeted top UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov, several of the UFC 223 competitors on the bus were affected. Shattered glass from a broken window caused Chiesa to suffer cuts on his face. Borg also suffered corneal abrasions after shards of glass went in his eyes.

Both Chiesa and Borg were withdrawn from their respective UFC 223 bouts, as they weren’t medically cleared to compete on Saturday night.

Following the incident at the Barclays Center, “The Notorious” turned himself into police custody on Thursday night.

While McGregor’s legal issues were addressed by the Kings County Criminal Court, McGregor’s future in the UFC and the sport of MMA remains to be seen. UFC president Dana White called the Irishman’s attack the most “disgusting” thing he’s ever seen in the company’s history. The MMA promotion has yet to sanction or punish the former two-division world champion for his antics in Brooklyn.
