A Nigerian lady narrates on Twitter how her old friend didn't invite her to her wedding because she didn't buy aso ebi even after she explained that she couldn't afford it at the time.

A friend that treats you this way was never your friend.

Continue to read tweets of women complaining on the new trends of compulsorily contributing to weddings and baby showers.

This aso ebi thingy is nothing short of gross exploitation of friends 'pockets'

Someone was telling me the other day that hers is #80K. I calmly told her to take it elsewhere. Like what

All to generate funds and/to trend on Instagram. Instagram is the vanity section of the Internet. With their silly hashtags...and Disney inspired love stories.

I never understand that mindset you invite people and then insist they wear something specific or insist on a specific colour.........

Some people are funny... Look at it this way... I can't give you an invitation card when I expect you to be at my wedding no matter what... ... I had an uncle.. I was surprised when i heard that he printed an invitation card for his wedding.. When I requested one he said what do you need it for...or do you want to invite your friends?... They may be so close that the friend didn't deem it fit to give her an IV... Just like giving your best man an IV

Rubbish narration from the so called twitter lady. Low esteemed broke ladies will always want to utilize the little chance and opportunity they have to trend on social media.

Will a woman who know her worth come to social media to cry like this?

Had it been your friend paid for your asoebi and invited you, would you have logged on twitter to form wedding financial manager and indirectly claim wife material?

100% of Nigerian ladies are guilty of wedding shows, you all are guilty of it(Including those commenting and supporting this lady), you can do the worse. Because you couldn't afford it doesn't make you different from them, it shouldn't give you the guts and audacity to condemn what you all are guilty of, until you ladies tend to know that wedding shows and high spending won't guarantee a happy marriage, you all will continue to be the enemy you have....Just get out with your complaint biko! cheesy

Birthday..... Ladies will do Asoebi.
Menstruation period....Ladies will do asoebi.
Maternity period..... Ladies will do asoebi.
Wedding day....Ladies will do asoebi.

Dem swear for una?

I agree with you on this, but I think a better option is not avoiding Instagram totally but by not following those peeps with monikers like "johngucci, moneygucci, dollarboy, hushbaby, mhizz bellzdiva..lol People showing off on their IG page with no reasonable source of income

I'M OF THE OPINION THAT WEDDINGS SHOULD BE OPTIONAL, AND IF POSSIBLE, BANNED COMPLETELY.

PEOPLE WILL CURSE YOU FOR DOING A CHEAP WEDDING.
PEOPLE WILL BORROW SO THEIR WEDDING WILL BE TUSHED, TO AVOID BEING CURSED.
PEOPLE WILL FIGHT WITH THEIR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T MAKE IT TO THE WEDDING, OR BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T CONTRIBUTE.

PEOPLE GIVE WEDDINGS THE KIND OF IMPORTANCE THEY NEVER GIVE TO LIFE ITSELF, AND IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.

Why would it hurt you that you aren't invited to a wedding? Boring overrated weddings. I'm even looking for how to skip going to the ones I was invited to, and someone is crying she didn't get invited.

I have a friend that was almost like that. She got so saucy during that period. It almost broke our friendship.

I just realized that there are some friends that are only friends when the going is good. They don't want to be bothered when the going is not so good.

I didn't bother with aso ebi for my wedding. I don't have that patience. Only family organized aso ebi and people that wanted it also requested for it.

A lady just quoted me typing 'Dumb' just to seek my attention hoping i'll insult her back. cheesy

But if you are that lady, and I didn't reply your mention, it means nature has done enough damages to your brain, so there won't be need for me to worsen your case by insulting you.

I have conscience for the less privileged cheesy
