One of her topmost objectives is to avail people suffering from sickle cell disease the opportunity to live their lives to the full like every other healthy person. We explore different channels to achieve this goal.
As at present, there are two ways:
1. Total cure through bone marrow transplant. AHF will help you organise this procedure, (including free HLA typing/Matching) at affordable rate.
2. Daily medication: while this will not provide total cure, it has proven to be able to keep crisis at bay and keep blood levels high enough to enable the child live a healthy life. This option is available at AHF office and is free!
In addition, the patients have the privilege of accessing laboratory tests at 50% normal charges.
AHF has partners in India, Spain and Ghana.
