BARCELONA MAKES A FORMAL BID FOR CESC. According to FC Barcelona’s official website, Club Director General Joan Oliver has confirmed that Barca have made a formal written offer to Arsenal for Cesc Fabregas. During the presentation of the club’s new sponsorship deal with Herbalife, Joan Oliver revealed more details of the negotiations with the London club to sign Cesc. Formal transfer period opens Oliver explained: “Everybody knows that Cesc wants to sign for Barca and that we also want him to come here, but there is also a third party involved –Arsenal. Any agreement has to be with them. The official window for transfer negotiations opened on June 1st and although we’d had unofficial conversations with them before yesterday, we’ve now made a formal written offer, which we presented to Arsenal yesterday afternoon.” Yuste is optimistic Club Vice-President Rafael Yuste also spoke of Cesc’s possible signing and claimed: “I’m optimistic that he’ll be able to sign for Barca as soon as possible and it’s clear that everybody here will give him a warm welcome. We’ll do nothing that might make it more difficult for him to come here and we won’t rush things – but we won’t stop either!” Yuste gave no more details, explaining that Txiki Begiristain and Raül Sanllehí were leading the negotiations. www.totalbarca.com We are talking about the captain of a club here and if he aint intrested he would have come out to proclaim his loyality is still with the gunners. Barca would not have made an official offer if Fab has not given his consent, everyone knows the boi deserves better,he need individual accolade and collective trophies, and its obvious he will rarely get to his best and listed officially among the world finnest if he continues with the gunners. its only gonna take time,he will come to the club where players potentials are being rewarded with lots of cash,trophies(6 in a season)and he will have the opportunity to play with arrays of natural talents la-masia is making.its just good to be home. |

Sandro Rosell is the new president elect of FC Barcelona. With a landslide victory with 61,35% of the votes, member number 12,556 will take over as president on June 30, and will keep the position until 2016. A convincing win for Sandro Rosell . A total of 35.021 members have put their faith in the leader of the 'We’re all Barça' campaign, which achieved the highest amount of votes in the history of the club, even more than the 27,138 for Laporta in 2003. The 39th president in club history Sandro Rosell becomes the 39th president in the history of FC Barcelona. After a brief stage as vice president of the club (2003/05), he is back in the institution this time as president for the next six years. Member 12,556 takes over from Joan Laporta, whose electoral campaign he was involved with in 2003. Huge difference The difference between Sandro Rosell’s vote and that of the other candidates was the second biggest in history, only behind Josep Lluís Nuñez’s over Àngel Fernández in 1997. The candidate that came closest to him was Agustí Benedito, with 8.044 votes (14,09%), ahead of Marc Ingla, with 7.014 votes (12,29%), and Jaume Ferrer, with 6.168 votes (10,80%). Laporta until June 30 Sandro Rosell will officially take up his position on June 30, the date when Joan Laporta’s madate is set to terminate. Laporta said this morning that he wishes to comply with what is established in the new FC Barcelona statutes . Congratulationz to Sandro Rosell.i hope he will be able to make right decions. |

Having always been associated to sport, Sandro Rosell is the new president of Barça and is bringing plenty of experience not just of football, but of business too. The 39th president in FC Barcelona history is 46-year-old Sandro Rosell. He is member number 12,556 and has a degree in business administration and an MBA from ESADE, Rosell is a sports and football marketing entrepreneur. He was the associate founder of the company Bonus Sports Marketing. His previous positions included one in the Marketing Department of the 1992 Olympic Games and for Nike. He is the son of Jaume Rosell, a Barça director during the presidency of Agustí Montal. He has always been associated to Barça and football. In fact, he was ocne a ball boy in the Camp Nou, like Guardiola. Sandro Rosell started out as a player for Penya Barcelonista de Collblanc and later played for Hospitalet, in Second Division B. Vice president for sport from 2003 to 2005 His first period at the club started in 2003, when he was part of Joan Laporta’s team that won a landslide victory in the elections with their campaign titled ‘Barça First’. As vice president for sport was he behind the signing of Ronaldinho, a player who did so much for Barça’s recovery of its former prestige. After the League winning season two years later, he resigned from his position following a disagreement with the Board of Directors. “We Are All Barça” He resigned on June 2. Five years later, Sandro Rosell has led a candidature of his own titled We Are All Barça and has based his election winning campaign on what he has learned from members over the last two years. Sandro Rosell has always said that is was his Jaume Rosell i Sanuy who taught him to love FC Barcelona, and now his biggest dream has come true. Now the challenge ahead for him is to maintain the success on the pitch and meet economic and social targets. This is just little i could get from our website! |

I think sandro Rosell is a decent guy. Don't know a lot about him but he used to be part of laporta's camp but he left cause he felt laporta was being too much of a totalitarian. Chances are he'll get rid of Txiki though. Dem no send each other at all. He stated that he'll get pep's input and approval before any signings and is committed to keeping pep at the club. That's a pretty good start IMO. Any body wey vex Pep go chop beating if I catch am. The guy trophy return rate no get part 2. |

Tixiki is on his way out no doubt.rumour has it that he will be replaced with ex goalkeeper Andoni Zubizerreta. Against all odd,i think overall tixiki has done very well as the technical secretary, infact Laporta and his entire crew has done a wonderful job. I hope Rosell will be able to hold it down and build on the solid foundation being laid by Laporta.he should not allow pep to go,we want him to be our Sir,Alex ferguson.God bless Barca. |

Barça Atlètic earns promotion Congratulations to FC Barcelona Atlètic, who will be one of the 22 teams to play next season in Spain’s Second Division A (Liga Adelante)! Their first leg win at home (1-0) was enough to send them through, after the second leg at Sant Andreu ended goalless (0-0). Barcelona’s official match report will be posted here soon. |

I was really impressed seeing Villa playing from the left flank in the first half and he showed his class with that wonderful solo effort. Villa was fantastic but he could have easily put two or more goals away.its a good news for Pep as he can easily fit into our 4-4-3 formation. Villa -Ibra-messi or pedro(bojan)-villa-messi.plenty of goals for us next season. |

TBH I dont know. But I know 100000% a Spanish youth team can't play in the same division as its senior team. Great job by Luis Enrique. Just like Pep brought them up a division, Lucho has taken them to the next level. Now our young players get to compete at a higher level week in and week out, which should make transition to the senior team easier for the ones that deserve it. I expect some 1st division clubs around Europe to start courting Luis Enrique, . . Maybe Arsenal sef, those copy cats. He could be the next Pep.

Looks like Yaya to Man City is a done deal for 32 million Euros. Thank you Yaya for all that you gave our club, and good luck on ur new adventure. We wish you all the best. |

^^ Lucky for us it is Man City. At least we won't face him next season. Not to worry. I saw Busquets for Spain, and he gave a good account of himself in the holding role. Maybe Mascherano will still happen, since the super-glue Benitez has left |
