2019 PRESIDENT: The right time for the right man in person of Senator Ahmed Makarfi (SAM) is now to be elected President of Nigeria if nominated by PDP delegates to clinch 2019 PDP presidential ticket ahead of 2019 general elections.

It's no longer news that Senator Ahmed Makarfi's credibility and outstanding credentials are indeed ringing bell for Nigerians to vote for either the failed change of APC and President Buhari led Federal Government or vote PDP and Senator Ahmed Makarfi for President of Nigeria in order to pave way for a positive change for Nigerians devoid of political, economic and security corruption as it's the order of the day in APC today.

As youth group of the Northeastern Nigerian States under the platform of Nigeria Youth Project, we commend our role model and mentor former National Chairman of opposition Peoples Democratic Party for his loyalty and commitment to the cause of the party and Nigeria.

We consider Senator Ahmed Makarfi as an ICON OF LOYALTY IN PDP AND DEMOCRACY at large in Nigeria.

This press statement became a necessary thought because of comment credited to former military president, retired General Ibrahim Babangida, when he played host of members of PDP National Working Committee led by Prince Uche Secondus at his residence in Minna.

The ex-military President had commended the loyalty of some party chieftains during the meeting.

"We members of Nigeria Youth Project from the six states of Northeast geopolitical zone, welcome and receive the accolades to loyal members of Peoples Democratic Party by elder statesman and former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida with great relief.

After due consultations, considerations, and objective analysis, we believe that His Excellency, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, the immediate past National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party as the man that fits the bill as the only senior chieftain of the PDP whose loyalty to the party over the years has been consistent and unquestioned.

It is truism that in Nigeria's political environment it is rare to find a political figure that will stay loyal to the cause of his party even at the most challenging period. It is amazing that despite the loss of his senatorial seat in 2015 and the dramatics and troubles caused by former acting National Chairman of PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, Senator Makarfi remained true to the PDP and conducted himself in manner that put PDP at advantage.

It is due to the maturity and display of Senator Makarfi that the candidate of PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke could dance his way into the red chamber.

Senator Makarfi stands ahead of his peers when it comes to loyalty to the party and the country, including to every governments of the party.

As youths, we believe Senator Ahmed Makarfi is worthy of emulation and it has further deepened our resolve to work with our peers across the other 5 geopolitical zones that makes up the country to see that Senator Makarfi bow to the call of Nigerians to present himself to lead our country from the perilous situation that the present administration has put us.

We consider Senator Ahmed Makarfi as PDP pathfinder who accepted to rescue Northeast from power tussle which led to series of litigations in PDP unfortunately.

We are indeed from Northeast and aware of other aspirations for President of Nigeria come 2019 by some persons which we consider it as display of Democratic practices.

However, we have found Senator Ahmed Makarfi worthy of PDP Presidential Ticket ahead of 2019 general elections above all presidential aspirants including the failed incumbent President of Nigeria President Buhari who recently declared his intentions open for second term in office as President of Nigeria.

We are strongly convinced that with the intelligence, charisma, antecedents and democratic leadership style of Senator Makarfi, Nigeria and Nigerians will be rescued from the current economic, security and political corruption been celebrated by APC led Federal Government unfortunately.

We therefore, call on all PDP delegates and stakeholders especially as well as lovers of Democracy and Nigeria to support the candidature of Senator Ahmed Makarfi in next year's general elections.
