A Liverpool fan was taken to hospital for treatment after being attacked by a group of Roma supporters outside Anfield. The Champions League clash between Liverpool and Roma ended 5-2 in favour of the home side. A group of hooded supporters isolated the Liverpool fan and he was left needing treatment on the road outside of the stadium. BBC captured a group of approximately 20 supporters standing yards away from one fan, who was receiving treatment on the floor. The supporters appeared to be holding belts and charged at another fan in ugly scenes on Merseyside. ITV correspondent Gabriel Clarke uploaded a video on Twitter that showed a group of Roma fans charging down Anfield road.
