Saynoomore:The website is correct. I’m not sure the UK office can do anything on application in Australia. You should email migrate@vetassess.com or give the Australia number a call 1 Like |

Good Morning, I have been reading and learning a whole lot of things from Nairaland over the years, but I just registered now because I needed to get clarification on something. Forgive me if I am posting this the wrong way. I have been going through this topic on Australia Migration and have also gone through the website, but I am still a bit confused on the route to take, whether 190, 189 or any other, but what I want is a permanent stay in Australia. I am 35yrs old, with a Bachelor,s degree in Project Management from a Nigerian University which I finished in 2012, worked in the aviation sector for the past 6 years first as an airline Passenger Service Executive for 2 years, and a Passenger Service Supervisor this last 4 years. On the Australian skills list, I saw Customer Service Manager for class 190 and the occupation details are in line with what I do, will I get a positive assessment considering that my job designation is Supervisor while what is on the list is Manager? I am married with a child, wife has a BSc in Microbiology and is 28yrs but does not have provable work experience in that line, she currently teaches in a private school and does not have any qualification in education and besides, its less than one year so we can not assess for school teacher. I am preparing for IELTS and sending in my documents for Canada PR, how ever I need to still do this as a second option because my family has to move ASAP. Please, take a comprehensive look at my situation and advice, Thanks to everyone contributing to grow this topic/project. |

FOSTY: Getting the 190 may be a challenge. Most states offer 491 these days to offshore applicants. Also Customer Service Manager (CSM) is usually given 491 and not 190. That said, I can't say if you will get a positive assessment or not. For CSM for vetassess, your job descriptions must not indicate you do customer service job at all but you manage customer service agent. You are in charge of training, develop metrics like NPS, CSAT etc for client satisfaction. If your job descriptions are more operations than strategic, then it may not be a positive assessment but who knows? anything is possible. You will also need to provide an organogram showing the people you report to and your subordinates Also, your years of experience may be reduced as only the years you have been a supervisor/manager will be approved and 1 year is usually deducted from the approved years. 1 Like |

Thanks for your response, but what about 189, do I qualify? Does 491 have any route to PR ? What if we decide to go the study route, does my wife going for a Masters or PGD in Education in Australia say primary school teacher or children with special needs a good option that can get us to stay permanently? I seem to be seeing teaching every where there. Does Australian universities accept part payment like they do in UK? Most schools I have seen for Australia seem to be very expensive. tunlex01: |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 2:35pm On Jul 18, 2022 |
FOSTY: CSM is not on 189 list. 491 have route to 191 PR visa after 3 years (after meeting some requirements). You can check them online. Teaching has a good prospect because we need more teachers. Most uni accept part payment (you are usually asked to pay for the first semester/year). Cheap and Australia are not synonymous..lol! We do things in a big way |

Salientsinmi:For accountant, try applying for jobs and get sponsored by employer on 482 visa if you work in any of accounting big4s. Pathway for accountants is very slim due to the competitiveness of the occupation in Australia. We have too many accountants here 1 Like |

judisco2019:Congratulations. Create EOI on SkillSelect with the current English score then go and rewrite cos that English score is low for your occupation. |

tunlex01: Oga Tunlex01, Please, permit me to bug you with these few questions. It will go a long way in helping me make some personal decisions on my side, and weigh my options: 1. How much does an average 2 bedroom flat cost (averagely, across Australia). I know there might be variations with cities and high brow areas, but just give a conservative estimate for an average Nigerian who has just relocated to any of the cities, and want to start moderately. I'm not coming for luxury. Just a moderate (not bad) accommodation to manage for a family of 5 2. How long (on the average) will it take to find something (a job) doing, at least to make ends meet. it doesn't have to be a professional job. E.g. One could start with a care job (or any menial job) to manage while writing qualifying exams to practice (I'm in the medical field) 3. What will be the average cost of living (food and minor expenditure e.g. electricity bills, transport, telephone, internet, gas) for a family of 5. I'm not an extravagant person o , and my children are all less than 6yrs. so, you can imagine they'll probably wouldn't be such voracious consumers . Abeg, make we know how to calculate expenses at least for the first 6 months before one gets stable with a meaningful job. Already flight cost I checked is hitting the roof. |

Saynoomore: These are tough questions to answer because the country has a huge land mass. To narrow it down, which city are you planning to stay? Please note my response below is not absolute and vary per location. Also, it’s best to over budget than to under-budget. 1. You should look towards a 3 bedroom apartment. Hardly will you find landlord willing to give you a 2-bed for 5 people. Modest 2 bed - $350 - $600 per week. Modest 3 bed - $450 -$700 per week 2. Getting a job has a lot of factors that are attached to it. Your cv, prior experience, your communication skills etc. To get menial jobs, I would say from 3 weeks upwards because you will need documentations like police report, proof of age since you won’t have a drivers license at that time and a few other documents. Care job will take at least 2 months cos you need to attend classes, placement, and then the certification 3. If your kids are less than 6, that means they will not likely be starting school yet. Your spouse can stay at home with them cos childcare cost is not beans. Cost of living - I’ll try to give a range for a family of 5 Food - >$600 Electricity - $500-600 per quarter (since you are new and may need to use more heaters to adjust your body temperature) Gas - <$300 per quarter Transport - get a car asap (budget from $4500 upwards to get a good car that will serve you and the family. Registration, insurance and license costs are additional expenses you should also budget for. Telephone - prepaid - $20, postpaid - <$50 monthly per person Internet - $60-90 monthly depending on the speed you want. Health insurance - $350-$500 if you are on a skilled visa or PR Water - $100 per quarter (some landlords add this to the rent price) You can always go with the cheaper options and upgrade later on. 2 Likes 1 Share |

tunlex01: Thanks a lot Tunlex01. Your estimate helps a great deal. I guess one can get by and manage very conservatively with $3500. Not bad at all. Gracias! 1 Like |
