I just got into PH this afternoon from Awka, and decided to pay a surprise visit to Agip company to see a personal friend. But unfortunately some youths barricaded the entire entrance to the company with palm fronds.

This caused heavy traffic in and around Agip road. I placed a call to my friend, he said they are equally trapped inside as they cannot even come outside.

So as it stands now, no one goes into Agip company and no one is allowed to drive out from the company.

If you have anything to do in Agip cancel it because the entire place is on lock-down. It looks like it's gonna get messy if the demands of these youths are not met.

angry Sense of entitlement is common with these Niger delta youths. They will never work but waiting to earn free money just because oil is in their region. No wonder president Buhari called them lazy and irresponsible. The oil belong to every Nigerian, enough of this nonsense

I think they should do more than that...
Afterall, what has been the gratuity given to them by the oil companies... All they do is to mine away their resources and stale their land...

If you see the accounts of these oil companies, the amounts they spend every year settling the indigenous communities is insane.... and most times the tax authorities will not allow them take a deduction for those payments in their tax returns.

Some people will talk about oil spillage and oil pollution but this goes beyond remedying the effects of oil spillage. This is a case of some people seeing the oil companies as cash cows to be milked at will.

We have a Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs which is being allocated billions yearly. What is the ministry doing for the youths in those areas? The companies already pay so much yet the youths want them to pay more.
