Facebook as we know today is one of the most used social media network globally. Interesting enough, little ones can now boast of being on the platform even with the nature of phones they carry about and you may come to wonder what is so captivating that gets people visiting to the extent that only few users think of leaving. Today, I will be sharing with you what gets people attracted and nested to this platform.

Cutting across devices

Just imagine that you own a small phone take for example, a Nokia X2, wishing to use Instagram app on it comfortably which in the real sense is a big No! But crossing over to the side of Facebook you will get to find out that a phone that can’t gain access to Facebook is the one that can’t access the internet, so there is little or no excuse for not signing up or not even signing in at any time , anywhere.

Wide services and tools

Facebook has a lot of services it offers. It is one of the only social media one can actually chat privately and as a group, make post on your timeline, on friend’s timeline and in groups, create your own (business) page, search for friends either by name or by contacts, affordable ads, still when signing up does not deny you any username of your choice.

Notifications

Whenever you sign in they bring up different notifications on your desk both the relevant and irrelevant, if you have an email account attached to it that’s when they bombard your mailbox with every bit of notification, they tend to turn on all form of notifications at defaults after sign up just to have following up every info that comes your way leaving you to turn them off manually all by yourself, annoying sometimes.

People you may know

The first day one registers, you will be advised not to make friends or add up people you don’t really know for security reasons they say but you get to find out that it begins to suggest to you people around the location you registered and sometimes goes as far as people out of the country. This is a technique most social media especially Facebook gets you nested to its platform.

Memories

This is actually a new feature added on their network to remind you of your past posts. Sometimes, it could be annoying because some of this memories could be something you just don’t want to be notified over.

Free services

This is bullseye, gone are the days when you can access Facebook only when you have a data plan running on your device because today one can actually be a great Facebooker without Internet subscription, giving you access to make as many posts as you want, chat as long as you want, view display pictures but with just one down side, unable to view medias (videos, sounds and picture made as posts). The good thing is that it saves data and you can switch over both easily, even though there are services providers restricted to this, Freebasics is currently working towards expansions and they only run in less developed countries.

New features

Recently across the years Facebook have added new features to its network like, able to delete your account, controlling how you are being tagged, taking full control of the notifications that comes your way, saving post for later reverence and even locating free Wi-Fi network close to you. So somehow it just feels like Facebook got you rolled over in its finger.

Nice post. Facebook is like my last resort whenever I'm bored with WhatsApp chats.
