Femylangy, or whatever There is no issue bothering your life,Koro is a failure ab initio and the worst mistake Lagos should have as a Gov. Lagos State is not a Local Govt. where he can be tried. It is a state for serious minded people not those with connection above. I'm not from Lagos but will be disappointed with Lagosians if he is given the mandate. If other Candidates can feature in his perceived "stage managed" debate there is no reason wasting energy giving reason for RUNNING AWAY |

THE PDP is a full scale fraud! Koro and all their candidates nationwide with the exception of Ogun State where Gbenga Daniel has been outstanding. All the others incumbent and new ones are are anti-people money miss road and money bags. They all like Baba Iyabo believe that everyone has a price and that our consciences are up for auction. Power at all cost is their underlying principle even at the expense of the people. PDP is not the party we should identify with now! Facts are all over the place, take it an interpret it then you will conclude the same. PDP is a fraud! |

If you see any I am ready to apologise publicly. but I can point to at least 4 from you and madejibo. Cafe attendant?? If only you could see through your screen. I am telling you that I work in one of the best organisations in the world You cant comprehend how an employed person would contribute to an internet forum? It never crossed your mind that some people could have unlimited access to internet in Nigeria. Eh that is what PDP govt has done to Nigerians, PPl like Adedibu, Alao-Akala, Obanikoro, Tony Anenih, Andy Uba now hold forte and are strong contenders. Even the southwest that used to be the envy of other parts as regards intellectually inclined individuals would now have Intellectually backward ppl like a Koro- a thug and Alao-Akala (who bleaches) |

Lagos the home of intellectuals being governed by a man that was one Sshairman, and pleading with foters and always clamouring for support from the center in an event that Yar'Adua does not win what happens to Koro's plan - doomed Koro stand on your own. To be sincere those who drafted what Koro was reading at the debate tried for him Kudos only that the guy couldnt pronounce it well and they should teach him composure too and not acting like he wants to beat someone up and he would be fit for governor of Agberos. We know he is capable of doing it but he shouldn't do it in public glare. |
Re: Lagos Governorship Debate: Why Was Koro Absent? by lewa(m): 11:29pm On Mar 24, 2007 |
I have said it~Koro lacks imagination, talent and the know-how to run Lagos!A tout would always be a tout~that is PDP for you.A band of thugs, bandits, louts, brigands and rogues!A vote for Koro would be a vote for vermin and locust to feed on Lagosians!A senator with no senatorial input for 4 years,no visible FG funded initiative in his district,no drive. In this day and age, governance has gone beyond sentiments~Koro ain't fit and left to me he should be consigned to the backwaters of Island, doing what he knows best,as some of us that know him to do well at~touting! |

What did Koro have to say?Honestly lets be real Koro cannot take Lagos anywhere.I think Agbaje/Pedro would but its getting almost certain Fashola is taking it. |
Re: Lagos Governorship Debate: Why Was Koro Absent? by llcoolg05: 8:26pm On Mar 27, 2007 |
LMAO!!! I laugh because 9ja4eva, I think you are trying to sike yourself over Fashola's candidacy, dont worry player he himself showed the world on that debate that there was nufn SOUND about the SAN. he stood there and lied to the good people of our state that: 1 Fourth mainland bridge was an ongoing project, since when?? 2. Eko ate was an on going project, since when? because we know they borrowed 5 billion since 2001 and not a bag of cement bought yet 3 He was popularly elected as the candidate, the crowd response was enough to tell you his asss was lying 4 they bout 50 fire trucks, where n when 1970 trucks that were donated by the British Government (thank God if KORO didnt tell us, we wouldnt know) 5 HE of all people couldnt mention two(2) I mean (2) things he would continue from Tinubu's adminstration, he stood there stuttering elm elm can u imagine that?? I can go on and on o!!! KORO on the other hand was sound and direct to the point. He shared his view on issues asked, and I believe he was articulate and more impressive was the passion he was speaking with. Was it not KORO that paved the way for the school question, that PEDRO, FASHOLA, and AGBAJE followed saying they agreed with the distinguished Senator. KORO touched on key points such as 1 Going back to empowering Local government 2 Securement of life and properties: Special deployment of 25,000 policemen to lagos where Lagos will be primarily responsibe ie increasing of salary, accomodation and other benefits 3 Patnering with the Federal Gov. Private Sector & International bodies to build and Independent powerplant 4 Cleaning up of our filthy Lagos, development of 2 additional environmental friendly dumpsites 5 Housing for the low income and middle income My people don't turn the deaf ear to this man, he knows what he's talking about. A man cannot continue to prosper in life like that if he doesnt know his onions. That is my candidate and I am too proud of him. Eko o ni baje as they say, because for my KORO KORO eyes, Lagos go better!!!! |

Am not a Fashola fan oh.Its jst certain he might win.I really think Agbaje is the man Lagos is waiting for.Besides Koro is not up to d task dts d bitter truth. For Local Government Chairman he wldnt be a bad option. |
Re: Lagos Governorship Debate: Why Was Koro Absent? by llcoolg05: 8:38pm On Mar 27, 2007 |
poor you, what r the qualities in a local government chairman if I may ask? Cos I am sure by the time you list that, and you compound those qualities with the experience of a Commissioner for 4 years, a Senator for 4 years, and an already one time Council Chairman, YOU HAVE A GOVERNOR. I rest my case. |
Re: Lagos Governorship Debate: Why Was Koro Absent? by 9ja4eva: 8:39pm On Mar 27, 2007 |
LOL.Can u please list his achievements? He was jst dere for fun nothing special. When he was Senator of Lagos State wat did he do?Nothing.Hes a big joker |
Re: Lagos Governorship Debate: Why Was Koro Absent? by llcoolg05: 8:51pm On Mar 27, 2007 |
whoa!!! i like this question, i wont just list them for you, I want you and others to intimate yourself with what KORO has done has a Senator Enjoy the read! Senator Musuliu Olatunde Obanikoro is a vibrant and extremely active senator at the National Assembly. As the Deputy Chairman, senate Committee on Marine Transport, he has provided absolute support to Senator Ugochukwu Uba to oversee the affairs of NPA, NMA, Nigerian Shippers Council, and other parastatals under the marine aspect of the Transport Ministry. Besides the senate committee on Marine transport, his presence and profound contributions have been greatly felt in other Senate Committees, especially Senate Committees on Industry; Tourism; Local and Foreign Debts; Drug, Narcotic and financial Crimes; Gas and Works. When he acted as Sub-committee Chairman (Senate Committee on Works) South-south, the position accorded him the opportunity to tour the six southern States to investigate the States of Federal Government Roads in this region. That singular experience fired his passion to seek Federal Government support for a facelift of Federal roads in Lagos. He never relented in breathing down the neck of Senator Seye Ogunlewe as Works Minister, requesting that the deplorable roads in Lagos be repaired. His persistence was eventually rewarded when the Minister began massive repair works on federal roads in Lagos. Senator Obanikoro was notable for his unrepentant passion for Lagos, and this manifested in some of the ground shaking motions he moved at the Senate. He speaks endearingly about Lagos at the Senate and has focused his energy on attracting Federal support to Lagos. It was vintage senator Obanikoro who moved the “motion on the surge and overflow of the Atlantic Ocean along the Bar beach shoreline” that provided a prelude to the action taken today to stop the surge at the beach. Having been moved by the recurring surge of the Atlantic Ocean, which has through the Lagos Bar beach, ravaged the Lagos Island metropolis on several occasions, and having noticed the absence of a permanent solution to the problem all these years, he moved the motion on the floor of the Senate, praying for urgent and permanent solution to the bar beach crisis. This wake up call moved the Senate to set up a high-powered ad-hoc committee comprising members of the Senate committee on works and Senate Committee on Environment and ecology. On Wednesday 15th of October 2003, the ad-hoc committee visited the site to have first-hand knowledge of the devastation caused by the perennial surge, and consulted with stake holders and all interest parties for three days. The committee tour and investigation was described as the most thorough and comprehensive ever since attempts were being made to solve the bar beach problem. It is on good record that Senator Obanikoro in his usual characteristic sensitivity to Lagos moved several motions in the hallowed Senate Chambers on issues bordering on the essence and survival of Lagos. Notable amongst these are: “A motion calling for the rescue of Lagos State from the menace of flood”; “A motion calling for the resolution of the clash between men of the Nigerian Police force and men of the Nigerian Army in Lagos State”; and “A motion to stop the incessant increment in the pump prices of petroleum products”. The end results of these motions which, without doubt, helped in restoring hope and order for Lagosians remain a veritable testimony to Obanikoro’s dedication to his beloved State. It is, perhaps, through sponsorship of bills that Senator Musiliu Obanikoro justified his tireless effort to provide succour to the people of his State and restore hope for the voiceless. Four of his most popular bills are: “A Bill for an Act to regulate and control public Buildings and for other purposes connected therewith”; “A Bill for an Act to regulate and control Dredging and Excavation of land and for other matters related therewith”; “A Bill for an Act to provide for the Re-certification of Fuel pumps and for matters related therewith”; “A Bill for an Act to prevent Casualisation in public and Private Establishment”. Senator Obanikoro occupied the front burners in the effort to secure special status for Lagos. In his submission to Senate Committee on Revenue Allocation, Which was chaired by Senator Osunbor, he recommended that 5% of Federal Government Revenue should be allocated to Lagos State, considering its strategic cosmopolitan significance to the nation. Unfortunately, the committee was dissolved because the Federal Government withdrew the proposed Revenue Sharing Formular for the reason that there were purportedly fake copies in circulation. Senator Obanikoro is endearingly committed in deploying his resources to education. He holds the view that the best form of legacy for a child is a sound holistic education. In one of his papers, “Empowering Nigerians through a Restructured and Realistic education Programme”, presented to Rotary Club of Omole, he concluded thus: “The kind of education I dare to yearn for and propagate… is the type that re-structures the mind and builds confidence in people. The kind of education that is self-sustaining and highly creative; breeds healthy and confident students, encourages creativity and provokes change. The kind of education that provides the impetus to enable us to recognize ability; tempers our conscience to crave for things that are positive, and inspires us to continue even till eternity the search for knowledge. In making education a priority in his legislative programmes, the Senator established the Senator Obanikoro Leadership and Education Programme (SOLEP). Through this project, he has been able to provide tremendous support to students in Lagos State. For instance, he imported 40,000 textbooks (spanning sciences, arts and social sciences) from the United States, which were distributed free to students in Secondary and Tertiary institutions in Lagos. These were separate from the 700,000 notebooks distributed to students in Primary and Secondary Schools in Lagos. Under SOLEP, the Senator started a massive campaign against examination malpractice. In April 2006, he contracted a consultant who took the campaign to the doorsteps of final year students who were sitting for the WAEC/NECO examinations. The Senator also procured 5000 copies of a text book: 40 Simple Ways to Study and Prepare for Exams. His effort in this respect was well received. And plans are under way to repeat this particular project for final year students in 2007. Senator Obanikoro has endeared himself to students and parents on account of his lofty educational programmes in Lagos state. Since 2003, he has regularly bought GCE forms for indigent students in Lagos State. Till date the total number GCE forms procured under SOLEP have risen above 1000. And for the year 2007, he has proposed 300 GCE forms for indigent students. It is also worthy of mention that in the last three years, the Senator has invested well over N4,000,000 in the provision of Scholarships for indigent students in the State. Obanikoro has also touched the hearts of women in Lagos. Besides providing comfort for their children, he set aside special funds to help children and women who need financial assistance during surgery. Dozens of Lagosians have benefited from this fund. In the last two years he has sponsored several women to participate in the AWHIP (a US based NGO concerned about the plight of African Women in the Diaspora) seminar in Little Rock Arkansas, where they benefit from special health and empowerment trainings. At present, he has a partnership arrangement with the US based NGO to set up a mammogram centre that will enable women to carry out free test for the early detection of Breast Cancer. Perhaps one of Obanikoro’s remarkable achievements is the setting up of OPP (Obanikoro Priority Project). During the flag-off of OPP, the Senator gave out items worth millions of naira to empower Lagosians. It is on good record that at the grand ceremony held at the Tafawa Balewa Square and witnessed by PDP Chieftains in Lagos including Chief Bode George, Late Engr. Funsho Williams, Senator Seye Ogunlewe, Chief Rasheed Williams (The Ajiroba of Lagos), etc., 250 motor bikes were given out to prospective riders. Market women and unemployed women received 100 milling machines, 100 popcorn machines and 100 sewing machines. Farmers from different regions in Lagos received well over 200 farming tools, and unemployed youths were given 400 telephone lines and telephones to start their own small scale telephone business. As a grassroots politician, he reports back to his constituents quarterly and yearly. He holds a regular Town-Hall meeting with his constituents to acquaint them with his legislative agenda, and also uses the forum to elicit their needs. He is, perhaps, the only Senator in Nigeria who writes to his constituents regularly and publishes his yearly report: “Challenges and Performance report”. In his yearly report, he gives graphic detail of what took place at the Senate during the legislative year, educates them on some of the resounding motions and bills that were that stirred the Senate, and updates them of some of his activities and challenges for the year. In all of these, Senator Obanikoro today occupies a prominent position in the league of Senators representing Lagos State. He has moved more motions and sponsored more bills than any other Senator from Lagos. He has also shown more commitment to Senate Committees than any of his Lagos counterparts. His legislative activities have been chiefly focused on Lagos, reaffirming his passion for his home State. Sadly, his huge commitment to his legislative responsibilities has been poorly reported. Interestingly though, the grassroots whom he has connected with these years are unrepentantly stuck to him. This, perhaps, confirms why he is the man to beat in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections. |
