What is the Human Development Index? The United Nations defines the Human Development Index (HDI) as an economic tool that measures indicators of achievement in key areas of human development: longevity, literacy and income distribution. A disadvantage of this economic tool is that it only represents a small part of human development. It does not give a clear picture of income distribution, levels of poverty, human security and empowerment within a country https://afrikanza.com/most-developed-african-countries/ |

Make a list of first-twenty countries and Nigeria will still not be there. A few weeks ago, Rwandan Airlines landed in Colorado! Rwanda. Rwanda. Rwanda of 1994 genocide o ![]() I'm surprised that they are not on the list, but the country is striving hard. Ethiopia is another progressive country. Their fashion industry is top-notching. Also to celebrate women's day 2018, Ethiopian Airlines flew an all women's flight - pilots, cabin crew were all women! These are the Real African Giants! 18 Likes 2 Shares |

flyca: Rwanda's story is inspiring despite the genocide they are really pushing forward and their capital, Kigali is being hailed as one of the greenest and cleanest in Africa. Ethiopia is really doing well, apart from their airline that is the king of the African skies they have become the preferred destination where top globa fashion brands like Calvin Klein, H&M, Tommy Hilfiger etc manufacture itheir products. We ask, in those directions what are these smaller countries doing right that we are feeling too proud to replicate? 8 Likes |

The most developed country in the list did not use crude oil to develop. But in Nigeria where there is abundant natural resources crude oil is our main focus over the years in such a way that it has blindfolded our eyes. Anybody you see shouting "VOTE FOR ME" in Nigeria his aim is to come and enjoy oil money. Whenever you hear "ONE NIGERIA" the reason is oil money. Whenever you hear:- "THE UNITY OF THIS COUNTRY IS NOT NEGOTIABLE " it is just because of oil money. This demon called crude oil has made us not to face the reality. It is a pity that even the landlocked Botswana is ahead of us. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Kenya and Djibouti are also making strides. Both are hubs for China's one belt one road policy. In the next decade, Djibouti may be the Dubai of Africa. 1 Like |

Pavore9: Some of them are just like us in that there are only rely on oil prices. These countries are however blessed with a better culture than us so their people tend to have fewer children thus creating a lesser burden on their national budget. The Other countries are investing heavily on education and healthcare, taxing their people, eliminating unproductive agencies and carrying out long-term plans to ensure the future development of their nations. 4 Likes |

We all know that Nigeria is carrying a heavy load that is impeding its growth, and that's the northern part of country, otherwise known as Arewastan. The north has been the bane of Nigeria. They reproduce at an alarming rate, filling up the whole space with children they cannot cater for. They are backwards in most spheres of life including education and intelligence quotient. Moreover they have produced the most corrupt heads of state that plundered the collective wealth of Nigeria, leaving it in a sorry state of underdevelopment. The total amount of money stolen by Babangida, Abacha, Abdusallami Abubakar, Buhari and other northerners like Danjuma, who are still robbing Nigeria blind through ill-gotten oil wells is enough to develop Nigeria and propel it to an advanced position in the community of nations. This marriage of strange bedfellows must be nullified. The break-up of this contraption called Nigeria is long overdue. 11 Likes 2 Shares |
