Kindly google and share instances where a British or American official sent a replacement to their parliament or congress.
If you don’t, then please withdraw your comment as it shows that you are uninformed about the subject matter.
what is this one saying, are we talking about US or Nigeria?
Even if the president is going through impeachment process, it is not a must for him to appear according to our constitution, you are telling me US or British, if the NASS sabi their job, make dem amend the constitution so people dont hide under it to do bad.
Carry your buhari/nass wahala and go abeg

Don’t you think that all these things are happening because Buhari has no moral integrity nor authority to call anyone to order since he is a worse rogue and corrupt hypocrite
Buhari's incompetence, lack of integrity and all the other attributes of a failed president are well known and documented,so there is no need attaching his failings to this matter.
Senate encouraged a suspected criminal, despite whatever or whoever is behind his prosecution,to serially disrespect and shun a formal invite from the police, the one universally and legally empowered law enforcing authority.
They should not expect any respect in return because they are encouraging and even trying to shield a criminal.
Can you dare refuse to go to a police station if you are told to report to answer some questions! So who the hell is Melaye to feel he is above the law!!

Incredibly foolish statement here. Hatred is a very blind emotion.

The Senate being led by Saraki and his gang is the worst in the history of Nigeria. It is the most clannish, self serving, arrogant, egoistic and unfortunately most incompetent Senate we ever had.

They turned the Senate to House of Summons. Thank God they have not even summoned God Almighty to appear before them.

The useless Senate has kidnapped our budget since November 2017 and yet they are taking 13.5m per month minus allowances.

After ridiculing themselves with the issue of Custom General's uniform, they failed to get Sagay summoned and now the IGP.

Our Senate of Suspension should learn to carry themselves with more dignity, sense of responsibility and patriotism to the nation.

Just wait and watch how Senate will try to amend the Police Act again, in their usual predictable manner.

Because Saraki defeated the thief in Lagos abi?

This is the best Senate in Nigeria so far, that doesn't support bad thing, if not for them Buhari would have turn Nigeria to another abacha regime

Several refusal of the senator to honour an initial invitation concerning the issues is sign of respect to the police as institution?

All this zombies in Nairaland defending impunity and Lawlessness, when Magu refused to be cleared " you shouted corruption fighting back", When Hamid Ali refused to wear Custom uniform , you people shouted "because he stopped them from importing SUVs, now IG zombies are here defending Lawlessness, well !, how does the country make progress, can two wrongs make a right?. Keep defending Lawlessness, Your children go suffer it very soon.

The truth is bold that all parties are in gross public misbehaviour.

The Senate is criminal. The judiciary is ineffective The police, representing the uniformed institution is lawless. The executive is incompetent. And this only in Nigeria.
The IGP claiming to be performing his duties to the best of his ability, I guess his refusal to relocate to Benue was part of the duty too.

None, I mean none of them is well.
This is Nigeria.

NASS as an institution should be respected notwithstanding our feelings about the occupants

Exactly!

I guess the guy doesn't know that querying (summoning) is part of their constitutional responsibility to Nigerians for their monthly allowance he cited. Emotions have clouded his mind, preventing him from reasoning it out.

Anyway, no wahala, sooner or later, other sections of government would join in disrespecting themselves and we would see the outcome. Maybe by then, we would all learn that institutions must be respected despite personal differences.

Meanwhile, there is no winner between the Senate and the IGP. The whole thing is just a national shame. undecided

Your brain dey pain u?
Where were you when a senator refused to honour the police as an institution or the letter written by the police as an institution to the Senate on the release of senator Dino Melaye for interrogation was not given attention?

Where were you when the judiciary as an institution gave a verdict that they don't have constitutional right to suspend a member representing his people but they refused to obey the court order?

You must have thought that the NA is the only institution in Nigeria that worthy of respect.

Good for the senate. They are only there to serve their personal interest. Imagine one useless sinator wasting legislative time yesterday to complain about how he, a Senator of the federal republic was manhandled. Wasted time reading a long epistle just to make a case on what happened to him. saying the senators have immunity and should not be subject to harrassment.

Ballderdash

NASS power of summoning starts and stops with the Minister, because in the organogram all other public officers report them and they are me to have a complete overview of happenings in their ministry. Read the constitution.

They cannot even.summon Mr. President. Have you forgotten how summoning of Itse Sagay died a natural death, based on the established fact.

If they will like the power to be summoning everybody and even God, they will have to amend the constitution and not by arrogating powers they do not have to themselves.

Very true.
We don’t share same constitution and ours was not inspired by theirs. In fact, the presidential system and bicameral legislature is from the 250 or so ethnic groups in Nigeria.
Even we don’t share the Internet with them to the extent that many Nigerians are risking death in the Sahara desert and Mediterranean Sea to be enslaved in Libya while thinking that it is a sure way of getting to Europe. grin

One thing I still ask people who support the senate is can they mention one thing the senate has done for the development of this country? Budget is still pending, nysc allowance still remain the same, minimum wage stil the same but senate salaries increases in millions why?

How is British or American official more supreme than Nigerian official? I'm asking because you sound too inferior and don't rend to realize that Nigeria is a supreme country and must not align with the dictates of your 'oyinbo' gods.

The same way they respected the judiciary that said they lack power to suspend their colleagues. They should go and carry the respect for market nah!!!!!

He who does not give respect does not deserve one. In their shallow minds, they always think and behaviour as if they have both the Executive and Judiciary power vested on them.

Useless House of Summons and Suspension
If you can pause for a moment and use your senses that would everybody a world of good.

You are supporting tyranny and illegality because of primordial considerations.

You should be ashamed of yourself...

What do you guys expect from an IGP that refused to even obey the President. The president directed he relocate to Benue in the wake of the killings, he refused.
What a lawless country.

There are better ways to relate with people than this.
IGP Idris and EFCC Magu, you both are arrogant in behaviour. You would eventually be removed as head of your respective Agencies when current President seizes to be.
These Senators can run more than three terms; they would be waiting for you both.

We would not pity you. We would remember these arrogant and disrespectful behaviours

Sometimes you guys just talk like you're bereft of any education. Are we being governed by the British or American constitution for them to be used as a yardstick?
