Heard a track better than this? [flash=500,500] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Moge_dQPeU[/flash] Shad is the dopest Canadian rapper alive, after Drake. (You know I'm being sarcastic) Off his latest album TSOL. (Verse 1) Maybe I'm not big cuz i don't blog or twitter Not like I'm bitter I didn't happen on the flop, but i'll win it on the river Longest winter got me seasoned Now I'm a non-beginner meanin' Not yet a veteran but nevertheless Pick the drug or the rapper man im better than Meth Dope as either or ether the drug or the jay diss I would say dope as reefer but that would be too basic And overplayed, overslaved won't complain though The games been good to a young and outta London so i'm grateful Not just for the fundin' or for the fans But for the chance to say sumthin, it wasn't in the plans at first It was sad days, halfway to graduation Cap and black cape making job applications I hate the catch phrase "Canadian rap sensation" Shad K don't have chains, big as the Appalachians But since the label put me out like ash trays to smoke cats I have gained some accolades and admiration It's grown since then Though that second album man was so old-school Folks called it old princeton Im still penny pinchin it was so fine My bills gonna hold still as pig skin When its field goal time, now That being said it's still 09 And i still got alot of credit I still owe 9 But they charge no interest, So i pay no interest Meaning I pay no mind, If there ain't no fine, I'm fine I hope I ain't boring yall rappin bout rap But the only thing i love more then rappin is nappin and I know nobody want to hear me rap about that You want the underdog spazzin on the track I get it, (Verse 2) Well my name ain't Lil' Wayne Gretzky, But yall know better than to check me In the game, my whole record's like a technique Tellin' referees to peak at the press seats a sec please DROP YOUR GLOVES OJ *haha* I knock you into next week make you get teeth replaced Can't use plates what you get to eat Gives new meaning to tube steak Like watching you bosom feed doomsday Move on these squares like a chesspiece, I'm deadly Even if you're Supernatural , I'm Craig G Jesse James meets Jet Li Killing these fakes at break neck speed I make your head steam like a pet peeve Get your neck squeezed till the breath leaves Got the finesse and the prestige And more mac(k) then 10 tech geeks dissing XP Best in the league of vets like ex-marines highest pedigree When i get the beat its hereditary Genetic freak poetically One-ten degree Memphis heat spittin steadily Medically decapitate this rapper's face Still won't get a head of me I'm the best I'll ever be (Yeah!) The cats out the bag, the new Shad's out Now they spell it S.H.A.D.D. the way i spaz out I don't bad mouth but i'll quickly put down the cat if he bit me like Roy's boy Sigfried, Welcome to the big leagues Where they pitch heat, still on a hit streak My rappin's like battin' .360 *Hey Griffey slow down do something less cerebral* I ain't big enough yet *I gotta keep impressin people* I get it , guess its a lesser evil Weapons lethal as a Desert Eagle Now my lethal weapon won(one) You don't get a sequel I Get it, (verse 3) No eviction notice still i'm homeless on a poets mission Not that I'm a fiend stealing bass like Otis Nixon Livin' on the street now i'm livin' on the road consistent Making fans multiply like a coefficient Record sales im making low comission but the visions mine They don't change my record like pitchin' a no decision Guitar playing emcee Yea i'm known for spittin' while i'm tappin on my fender like cars in a slow collision The precision of my flows in terms of tone and diction Is akin to that of the old masters of prose and fiction So many sold their souls , my soul ambitions To hold solace so calm and bright as a solar system I'm from a soul tradition; heads think I'm going to prison Cause I'm talking bout this rap sheet with the most conviction The most commitment, no other pro is so proficient The coldest spittin', Rakim north pole edition LISTEN ! Don't sleep. |

hax: LOL. Drake isn't that bad. If that's what you meant. Wasn't a fan either but he grows on ya . Shad is cool, too. For a Canadian rapper . |

Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by hax: 7:49pm On May 22, 2010 |
maedan:Yup. I just don't like him alot though. ALL his mixtapes have been boring, one good single which I'm not going to name, nominated for a Grammy and he's dropping an album and everyone thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread. A slightly improved, less annoying version of Lil Wayne. Let's hope they find him with more iPods and extend his stay in jail to like 5 years lol. Ibime:Yessir. You know I wouldn't recommend rubbish naw. :p I'd have said he's the best rapper alive, but I don't want anyone to break bottle on my head, so let's just say best Canadian rapper alive. lol ofokaofoki:Yes, ofoka i fux with the real sh!t. |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by maedan(f): 9:58pm On May 22, 2010 |
hax: I second you on that, first time I heard him (Successful), I was like, what's all the Drake hype about? But he has one or two good moments on his tracks . On the other hand, I'm checking out a lot of Shad's stuff on YouTube, trying to catch up, y'know. LOL. Thanks for recommending him . |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by blank(f): 10:02pm On May 22, 2010 |
All i was hearing was noise, noise and more noise. |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by maedan(f): 10:18pm On May 22, 2010 |
hax: Lol, the whole track is ill but I like those lines best. He's authentic, that's for sure. How rappers used to rap before it got all "commercial". |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by chiogo(f): 10:20pm On May 22, 2010 |
Lemme help you embed. . . [flash=640,385] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Moge_dQPeU&hl=en_US&fs=1&[/flash] The beat was too loud, only wack rappers need that to overshadow the lyrics they don't have. But I think he has good lyrics. He seems familiar too, think I've watched this video before or something else by him. hax:LMFAO!!! |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by maedan(f): 10:26pm On May 22, 2010 |
This is the second time someone is complaining about the noisy soundtrack. Both girls . The music might seem loud because his voice is so cultured and even. If it was Lil Wayne now. . . . maybe it would all have matched . The percussions were a bit much on the track though, but that's all. |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by chiogo(f): 10:36pm On May 22, 2010 |
^^Funny 'cause I actually like my music loud and I'm very much into beats - love 'em. I just don't like when an artist's voice is overshadowed by the beat esp. when it's not a party track, like he's actually saying something meaningful. |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by maedan(f): 10:40pm On May 22, 2010 |
Lol. Like I said, he's authentic, loud and proud is how it used to be done. Won't name names, don't want to drag out the issue, but this was the way it was done. That's why some folks frowned on rap. Nowadays it's more sweetness and light, with hooks and stuff . The cornier it is, the more money you get . |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by hax: 11:00pm On May 22, 2010 |
blank:Beautiful noise. Hater! HATER!! maedan:Yes ma'am. Nice to see that there are still peeps keeping it G. chiogo:Now, help me inbed. The beat was too loud, only wack rappers need that to overshadow the lyrics they don't have. But I think he has good lyrics. He seems familiar too, think I've watched this video before or something else by him. Most of his songs are like this. I think he does it on purpose. Don't know why though. Doesn't affect the quality of the music imo. LMFAO!!!I'm sure everyone's tired of that annoying giggle. Why do rappers LAUGH on their tracks? *evil look at Jada, Jeezy and Weezy* maedan:Exactly. Look at B.o.B. Damn. To be a successful rapper these days, you need to rap LESS. *evil look at Cudi, Drake and B.o.B* |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by chiogo(f): 11:09pm On May 22, 2010 |
hax:Be right on it. hax:A lot of people do that once in a while, I wouldn't mind if I was a fan I'd have to grow into it. . . if he's consistent enough. Hehehehe *weezy laugh* I LOVE B.O.B |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by maedan(f): 11:16pm On May 22, 2010 |
Lol @ "wheezy laugh" . I dunno but Lil Wayne is my favourite rapper . That said, I give respect where it's due. As for Drake, well, it's an industry and people have to eat . Let the whacks and the macks do their thing, the stage is big enough for both of them. Hehehehe (luv ya Wheezy). LOL. |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by hax: 11:33pm On May 22, 2010 |
chiogo:Oooh, Sit right on it. A lot of people do that once in a while, I wouldn't mind if I was a fan I'd have to grow into it. . . if he's consistent enough. He is. I'll post more songs. :p Hehehehe *weezy laugh*You've seen 2sure2shizzy's amemu, right? lmfao he laughed throughout the song. xD I LOVE B.O.B*has fallen out of love with Chiogo* maedan:Ugh. I'd have had you replace Chiogo, but you're worse than her. Exactly. That's what it IS like! Weezy laughs like he's wheezing. Ugh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjcJXdQcioE Classic. lmao |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by chiogo(f): 11:44pm On May 22, 2010 |
hax:I watched the foool once. He's smoking some stronger shit than Lil' wayne sef. hax:Ah! Well, I saw that coming. It's all gravy. Naw but B.O.B is great! I'm not yet a full-fledged fan but after watching him perform, I started feeling his music. . .he used to be a bit boring to me. Ya better listen to that new album. |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by hax: 12:08am On May 23, 2010 |
chiogo:lmao maybe that's why he was laughing so much. lol Ah! Well, I saw that coming. It's all gravy. It's not all gravy. You're meant to be crying and begging me to stay. You're too frigid. Too indifferent! Naw but B.O.B is great! I'm not yet a full-fledged fan but after watching him perform, I started feeling his music. . .he used to be a bit boring to me.No he's not 'great'. Shad is 'great'. J Cole is 'great'. B.o.B is, 'poo'. :p and i've heard his album. ugh. |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by chiogo(f): 12:16am On May 23, 2010 |
hax:Beg indeed. . .when it's 'on to the next one'. And I did nothing wrong so adios [s]You'll see just how frigid I am when I'm doing it big with Genuflect. [/s] hax:I agree on the J. Cole part. But don't be talking about my Bobby like that. I guess we don't agree with each other anymore. More reason why we've drifted apart. Oh well. . . |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by hax: 12:25am On May 23, 2010 |
chiogo:oh fxck! i thought it was april fools day. i really didn't mean what i was saying. it was a bad joke. *laughs it off* I agree on the J. Cole part. But don't be talking about my Bobby like that. I guess we don't agree with each other anymore. More reason why we've drifted apart. Oh well. . .No we haven't! We agree that J Cole is the sh!t. Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by hax: 1:23am On May 23, 2010 |
C'mon, babe! Don't look at it that way. that b.i.t.c.h. was an acronym. Beautiful Incredibly Talented Cheerful, errr, Housewife. No, it's not! Don't be like that! ------ I liked Say Aah like everyone else. The hook was craaazy. How's school going? |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by chiogo(f): 1:31am On May 23, 2010 |
Acronym indeed. OMG! You just said housewife, you chauvinist! Lemme think about it. You're really not trying Didn't like "Say aah" at first since most of its lyrics were from "Invented sex" - that's my song! Coulda been our song. And I'm on summer vacay too. Finished early enough for my bday. |
Re: Shad- Yaa I Get It. by hax: 1:39am On May 23, 2010 |
chiogo:No, babe, I had no choice. I needed something eye-catching. And there was no other word to use for H. Apart from 'ho', which is too degrading and I there's no way I'd use that kind of word to describe my precious gem. Lemme think about it. You're really not tryingI'm trying my best. This was not expected. It's just a big mix-up. And I promise to be around more often. No more cold nights alone, Didn't like "Say aah" at first since most of its lyrics were from "Invented sex" - that's my song! Coulda been our song.Don't be like that. It's not too late. And I'm on summer vacay too. Finished early enough for my bday.Cool. Lucky you. When's your b'day? |

I'll let you chill for a min.Kewl, thanks. I'd have dropped a 2shizzy style verse for ya. 'On the campus smoking marijuana, speaking many grammar' lmao That stuff is TOO sick. It's about as high up there as Hon. Patrick's stuff. And another Shad track, this one dedicated to you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4XrSHK9dp4 Shad- 'I Heard You Had A Voice Like An Angel' I heard you had a voice like an angel I heard a strange tale About a saint that fell; music became jail These bars, I hear you rapped in 'em Wove in the beats like the clothing of sheep Wolves' tracks, spin 'em DJ's, CD's, C-notes, G's thrown on D's with B King like T, I hope I heard you even sang when you spoke And the emotion you evoked got you choked When your beauty struck a vocal chord broke Throw the stove overboard Looked upon the ocean, caught your reflection before the Lord's I heard you had a voice like an angel Strange though, you were blinded by the light Shining from your own halo Fell off, sorta like a rainbow When heaven watched your faint glow fade slow I heard you had a voice like an angel I heard that fame's a killer that can murder great princes Like Kurt Cobain, singin' "Purple Rain" from a distance Hope home ain't a virtual game, nor this cursed place Earth, where the dollars and the karma don't circulate The world's a stage and you know this play well Gee, I bet you even know how it ends, pray tell Had a voice like an angel, now you score the drama scenes The comedy's the fact, re-enact what you wanna be Had some old song still stuck in your memory Distorted, though, so you sort of reassembled melodies And fine-tuned and turned 'em into single after single Then this industry you built, so sinfully simple for You to write, 'cause a song is what your life was The destiny of stars is their light must fight dusk For sparks of brilliance to ignite us And of all the billions of stars, you were by far the brightest I heard you had a voice like an angel Now it's just a light hush And now you keep everybody's eyes on charts and schedules And the trends, tryna stack gold bars and medals, They want vessels, void and dark The space fools wanna make stars Instead of music that's smart or special Because art at a level that's real can be harder to peddle Business prefers a market that settles For second rate, kill the true artist, martyr the rebels That's the system and it's straight from the heart of the devil See, merchants of dreams sewed the soul's eyes wide shut Passing the buck to purchase a pass to buy stuff Workin' in the circus, get hired up To walk over half-knots on a tightrope, tied up And my god, it's a delicate balance, developing talent Into persons that we worship, yo, it's a hell of a challenge I heard you had a voice like an angel Don't really sing no more, but you still runnin' the game, so If we don't behave like them, they call us crazy And if we won't slave for them, they call us lazy Lately, I've started to see why you hate me Hearing this voice, it must be painful To the ears, when, for years, you had a voice like an angel And if you don't behave as them, they call you crazy And if you won't slave for them they call you lazy Well, I say They wanna take your mind, turn it into a prison Then lock you inside, then they'll call that livin' Well, I say And if you don't behave as them, they call you crazy And if you won't slave for them they call you lazy Well, I say They wanna take your mind, turn it into a prison Then lock you inside, then they'll call that livin' Well, I say I heard you had a voice like an angel They say, "smile for the camera" They say, "smile for the camera Smile for the camera While we take your children Smile for the camera While we despoil your women Smile for the camera While we make our millions Smile for the camera While we make our buildings Smile for the camera, smile for the camera" They say, "smile for the camera" This dude is too sick. . . |
