Natural Hair In Nigeria Today by Fealty16(f): 2:17pm On May 12, 2018 |
This post is focused on transitioning hair (relaxed to natural). Alot of girls are almost excited on going natural ignorantly, thinking that once they go natural boom their hair gets longer, girl its not that easy but you've got to try right?. First there are some things you must know your hair type Your hair porosity How well you can handle your hair yourself YOUR HAIR TYPE Knowing your hair type is definitely important .and basically the 4b and 4c coily hair type is more common among Nigerians ,which are the last hair types on the chart. You have to know that this is the most difficult to manage hair type. YOUR HAIR POROSITY Hair porosity is the is the ability of the hair to absorb moisture. This is different from person to person ,and its in 3 different categories, Low porosity Medium porosity High porosity LOW POROSITY low porosity hair is moisture resistant ,it hardly accept moisture, (for instance when a conditioner is applied it just sits on the hair strand, it doesn't penetrate into the hair srand to reach the cortex of the hair). This natural hair would definitely be hard to maintain but it has its own advantage, which would be explained in my next post, NATURAL HAIR PROS AND CONS MEDIUM POROSITY Medium porosity natural hair accepts moisture at a balanced rate HIGH POROSITY High porosity natural hair accepts moisture at a 100% percent rate and gives is off (gets dry) also at a 100% rate To know your hair porosity Take a small bowl of water Place a strand of hair into the bowl Of water if it floats it signifies LOW POROSITY, when it sinks 50% MEDIUM POROSITY, when it sinks 100% HIGH POROSITY. HOW WELL CAN YOU PERSONALLY HANDLE YOUR HAIR this is for me the most important especially in Nigeria , your hair is most likely to get damaged when you get to the salon.so to get a healthy long natural hair you have to cut most of your salon visits and do your hair yourself, also invest in wigs Visit my blog fealtyfeo..com |
